And Now, the "Real" War Begins

To all you bloody naysayers, to all you bloody elitists whether you be a politician, a private citizen or the  news media, who know nothing of or about war, because you've never experienced it.  You run from it.  I believe the word for you is coward.  You willingly send someone else's son or daughter off to do the dirty deed, while what you hold dear remains protected and safe, as you hide in the shadows, lounging in your easy chair, enjoying your favorite beverage,  rubbing a hand over each strand of hair, ensuring they're all in place, straightening your silk tie, rehearsing hollow words, while waiting for the press...

To all of you who have the ability, the capacity, in one role or another, of contributing to the final decision of sending young men and women off to war and then, in the dark....sully them, belittle them, and, at every opportunity, stifle their ability to do their job...

To all of you, young and old (you oldsters, esp. who should have learned something of value by now) who have delighted in trashing, protesting and demonstrating against our military because in your warped and infected minds, they are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys...

To that individual who was dealt the card to call our military to battle, and was painfully aware that he held their lives in his very hands and, because of his clarity, his faith, his resolve, his determination, his respect for and love for country and her ideals, and because he knew an act of terrorism and savagery was purposely perpetrated upon this nation by a group of terrorists, he clearly knew what had to be done and he did it.  - Definition of a Leader.

And, our military did not need any prodding from you, President Bush, because they were and are of the same mettle as you.  I may have disagreed with other policies you embraced but in this instance, I salute you, President Bush, for it was your determination and our military's expertise, experience and bravery who won this battle.  Not Obama, and not the ideologues.  The former President and our military were called upon to do a job and they saw it through, to the end.

To the American military and the brave men and women, to our intelligence agencies, to the steadfast resolve they have maintained in seeking out and severing the head of a venomous snake, under what one can only imagine were the most cruel and unusual circumstances, I say to all of you that my Dad, a WWII and Korean War Veteran, who passed away in 2005, and who, like so many others, was called forth to make sacrifices to keep this nation (and many other nations - free) an Elite Band of Brothers, is now sitting next to me as we watch the news unfolding on the telly.  His WWII cap is sitting right next to me.

But now the real war begins as this was only a skirmish.  Make no mistake, this snake's demise has spawned a new resurgence in those who mean to do us harm.

And this is why we need to be more vigilant now, than ever before.

Those in our intelligence agencies, our Justice Department, our military, and those mis-guided and just plain stupid organizations who spout off that they only have our well being in mind when they paint a returning Iraq war vet as the enemy and the murder of innocent Americans along our southern border as "having everything under control" when clearly they do not...be forewarned that a new and more painful reality awaits this nation if our government and others continue to look the other way when it comes to protecting American citizens, smearing good people and wantonly (aka:  willfully, recklessly, deliberately, heedlessly, unjustifiably) refusing to protect and defend THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
