Let It Be So


To all those who inspired me; to all those whose patience I have tried; to all those whom I have wronged; to those I have neglected; to all those who have lost faith in me; to all those whom I have faith in; to all those individuals who have come and gone in my life -- who have taught me so much - have touched me so deeply; have pushed me hard to look "within"; challenged me, encouraged me and taught me it's okay to cry, it's okay to show weakness, it's okay to look stupid, it's okay to make mistakes, it's okay JUST TO BE ME. I ask your forgiveness and offer a humble thank you. To those people who have that special twinkle in their eyes and a zest for life; to those who have hit rock bottom and are now at the lowest point in their lives--my prayers are with you; to the addicts and the afflicted I wish for you the true realization of your problem(s), and the courage and strength to address them. And to my wonderful partner and husband who has stuck by me all these years (boy, what a job he's had); to my grandchildren who have brought so much joy into my life; to my sons who still have a long way to go along with the author of this post; and to a Rabbi who profoundly changed my life, again a humble thank you. And to all of my fellow human beings who inhabit this beautiful Planet, I wish You All Peace. Peace in Your Homes, Peace in your Countries, Peace in Your Hearts, and Peace in Your Souls. And maybe, G-d willing, very soon, World Peace. Not just words, but a reality. Let it begin now with each one of us so that soon there will be true everlasting Peace in Our World. Happy New Year 2011.

Let the Ego Go

If we're ever to accomplish anything worthy during our lifetime, it's time to recognize that we need to let go of the Ego. Ego is a powerful force. It drives us, compels us, can blind us and bind us and consume us if we let it. Eventually, if left unchecked, destroy us. There is nothing wrong with seeking to make one's life better, to reach for the stars, to set lofty goals. This is America and this is called freedom to make our own decisions (free will). But when Ego gets so powerful and so all-consuming that it is now Master of one's soul, having triumphed in trumping the individual, when Ego is only concerned with ITS own self-interests, this is where we can run headlong into problems. Ego in this country is on a mission. I believe it is destroying our religious beliefs, our families, relationships and this country's infrastructure. Marriage vows, honesty, compassion and Truth have been thrown under the bus. Congress is a good example of one gigantic Ego Trip. But let's not forget ordinary, hard-working men and women who are so consumed by their haste to get ahead, workaholics continuing to put their job first and family/relationships second. Many times these people wind up with failed marriages, mental anguish, having affairs, turning to alcohol and drugs. The structure that once held everything together, marriage and the family unit is now immeasurably harmed or permanently destroyed. This slow "eating away" at the underbelly of this country can take place over a period of years or can happen much more quickly, leaving us to wonder "what has happened???" America has replaced virtue with success. We are now a success-desperate society that has lost its way. Our frantic longing for "success" is killing us. When are we going to wake up, look around and realize that we brought children into this world? That when we stood at the altar, we made a vow "to love and cherish till death do us part". When we looked each other in the eyes we repeated these words..."Together, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health". It seems we've gotten this twisted around. The Death part seems to be coming at us first. Shouldn't we be taking a hard look at returning to G-d's principles...the Ten Commandments, The Noahide Laws, which I believe apply to all of us. It's a roadmap for success all laid out for us but no one is paying attention. We've made some gains on putting this country back on the road to fiscal sanity, albeit very tiny, but it's a start. But now our biggest commitment should be getting our own, personal, priorities straight...taking time for G-d, family and relationships. And thanking Him for His many blessings. Finding comfort in the simplest of things that He has provided for us. Everything else can take a back seat.

Dirty Tricks

This morning I watched a news man expressing incredulity that "President Obama and a Democrat Congress actually passed the extension of the Bush Tax cuts and voted against a huge pork-filled spending bill". "Why, this is unbelievable" he went on to say". This is a victory for the American people and he's right. Yes, but only temporary and a small one. Could be the President had no choice because the opposition against not doing so was insurmountable. Maybe, maybe not. Knowing the President's track record, isn't it fair to say that this was unusual, to say the least, i.e., way out of line, for a far left President who has driven this nation into the financial abyss? He did have a big smile on his face, though, as he picked up the pen and signed these two pieces of legislation. "This is a great victory for the American people, and will enable you folks to pay your bills (you poor shmucks), send your kids to school and will even be a boon to small business". What???? Have I lost my mind, did I just hear all this? And, all, with the stroke of a pen. But, I ask you, just who is stroking whom? Have we forgotten that Obama invited former President Bill Clinton for a brief "visit" just before this great bill signing event? Did these two just chit chat about old times, the weather, or, "oh, BTW, how is Monica doing", or quite possibly could it have been perhaps, more of a a pre-2012 planning meeting? So now I'm connecting the dots.....what could have compelled this President to do the unthinkable in record time? What could have compelled he and a Democrat Congress to make such a swift and dramatic turn around? Not the wascilly Republicans who are now in control (if they can ever get their collective a***s together). No, I think it was as I stated above. Clinton knows how to persuade, cajole, manipulate and compromise (when his back is to the wall). And that, I believe, is exactly why he and Obama had their little meeting. Clinton had been faced with the same situation Obama now finds himself in and Obama desperately needed his advice. Clinton: "Ah, Mr. President, you must look ahead to the 2012 elections. You are losing, have lost much of your base that swept you into office in '08. How do you go about getting those votes back? Why, you do exactly this.....sign the Bush Tax Cut extension and squash this huge spending bill that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi so desperately want. They are now "getting in the way" of any re-election chances you have. Why, if you give me the chance I'll even take over the podium for you and field some questions (that you obviously don't have a clue how to answer) while you and the lovely Michelle grab a bite to eat. Heck, I don't mind, (reminiscing) it seems (sigh) like old times". The best part of this is that Reid and Pelosi, because they got trampled by a herd of Bluffalo, didn't get what they wanted and were "in absentia" from this great bill signing event. soule: I personally didn't need to see those two sorry mugs staring at me again, anyway. Politricks, isn't it great? Without batting an eye, you just eliminate the opposition, (don't matter how) even if it's from your own party, because "their services are no longer needed". And let's work with the opposition for the good of the American people. If you believe that one, then it's time for you to check yourself into the local Shrink.

Contemplating Our World


Have you ever picked up a pebble, held it for a moment in your hands and felt its smoothness, wondered about where it came from, what it was made of, how old it was? Or were you more inclined to pitch it away, because it was annoying or interfering with something you were doing? Were you able to watch the Geminid Meteor Showers Monday morning? I wasn't able to be up at 3:00 or 4:00 am but did manage to open one eye and catch one space rock hurtling through the dawn sky with its tail on fire. Have you ever stood under a tree, looked up, and marvelled at how tall it is, how its branches seemingly extend forever and thought, "what a majestic piece of work"? Have you ever looked into a newborn's eyes and seen a piece of Heaven stare back at you? BEING. "Being" is the state where you are, right here, right now. It is the ongoing state of just being alive, being a part of some thing. It is being a part of the ongoing process of creation. You are CREATION. You breathe in, you breathe out. You think thoughts and express emotion. You make the conscious decision to take this path or that one. You think an evil thought and act on it or suppress it. The seconds keep ticking away as you go about your busy day. Every moment we are alive, every act and thought is a state called "BEING". We take this all for granted. If we were to collectively think good thoughts I believe the world would change for the good. For our thoughts are energy, WE are energy. Energy as we all know is a powerful force. On the other hand, if we were to think bad thoughts, then the outcome would be just the opposite. Our walking, blinking, heart beating, talking, our breathing, thoughts, the simple act of pushing a grocery cart, combing our hair, picking up children from school, hailing a taxi, preparing meals, constructing a house, tying a shoelace, even sleeping, is all a state of "BEING". We have been given free will to do good things or bad things. Free will to make a decision to go down this path or take the next. We have many different thought processes going on in our world today. But this has been going on since the Beginning. We have a tug of war going on in this world today. There is a tremenous battle going on between two forces and I fervently believe that this battle is only becoming more brazen, more stronger. It is the battle for our souls. We have groups who know nothing more other than to "wipe people off the face of this planet" just because they do not fit in with their "ideology", ie. thinking. They are actually training and being schooled and exist just for this one purpose. On the other hand we have those who are pushing back against this menace. Soldiers who are putting their lives on the front lines, to keep this menace "in check", politicians, and peaceful leaders are showing the world there is another way. The Dali Lama comes to mind along with scholars and religious leaders. Eli Weizel was on Fox News yesterday morning. A Holocaust survivor who is now a Professor at Boston University. I've never seen or even heard this man talk before but the one thing that struck me about him was his "humanity". Even though Mr. Weizel was marched off to a concentration camp and lost several family members, he does not "blame" the Germans for what transpired. Maybe some people and organizations here in this country should take note. Instead of laying guilt on those who were responsible and angrily denouncing them, he reaches out to those who are guilt-ridden and embraces them with love and compassion. And Mr. Weizel makes no bones about calling a country stupid when their national interests trump peaceful ones. Mr. Weizel has written several books and I am going to research them. I am standing on a beach and watching a wave rising higher and higher. This wave is either going to turn into a tsunami and wash us all away into oblivion or, bring us through and to a new reality. The reality being, that in the end, after we get through all that Almighty G-d has in store for us, we will see a new dawn, a new day, in which all mankind will no longer look upon their neighbor as a target and one that has to be put to death, but with a new awareness of love and compassion. Neighbor will embrace neighbor and, in unison, we will all sing praises to a Creator as the old world (as we knew it) will have passed away. We will then be face to face with the One who made the tree and the pebble. This new world will be His world and His domain, and everything will finally be in its rightful order.

Can We Get Our Act Together in Time?

August 25, 2010: If one were to view this planet from above, it would be like peering through a looking glass. It’s teeming with an exuberant, unbelievable, colorful, vibrant, kaleidoscope of life. How did all these different life forms come into being? Was it an unseen hand that divined a prescient mathematical formula that started life’s chain of events eons ago? This unfolding of life has been ongoing for years. From the beginning, scientists have speculated that millions of years ago, microscopic life forms appeared and multiplied and through years of transformation… insects, amphibians, the towering Dinosaurs and finally, mammals (us) appeared on earth. Just like a giant steam engine, this planet keeps chugging along, continuing to sustain a plethora of life. Whether we were “seeded” here, as some scientists have suggested or, by Divine intervention, the fact is that over time, this creative process has never stopped. This balanced, harmonic ongoing process is like a one-of-a-kind precision timepiece. Picture a wizened, old white haired wizard peering protectively over this timepiece. His fragile, worn thin wire spectacles balanced precariously atop his nose, and with utmost care, bent fingers gently, deftly, positioning into place, its innermost working parts.
First, the scientists tell us that microscopic life appeared on planet earth. Could it have been brought here hiding inside the many meteorites that blasted into this planet during the early part of its creation? Climactic changes have been considered as playing an important part. Producing, altering, changing and, in many cases, destroying certain life forms, thus paving the way for new species. Even now, creation continues its slow drumbeat of evolving, adapting, reshaping, restructuring. Should we be surprised anymore at Life and her creativity, resourcefulness, resilience? Question: Why are we here? We could debate the answer(s) to this one for a long time. What achievements, what improvements, what notable accomplishments have we contributed to this planet’s health (and in so doing ensuring our own survival, the continued health of this planet and quite possibly the survival of other planets and other life forms?)
Is it just me or do we humans take more than we give back? Do we think about the long term consequences of our actions to this small planet that we call home? From countries hell-bent on orgies of destruction in all out vendettas to wipe out their neighbors, committing mass murder using nuclear weapons, biological warfare, or (fill in the blanks) to a plain lack of understanding of this planet we live on and the care it must be given, man is sliding backwards.
Thousands of years ago it was all about survival, seeking shelter, food, fighting off hunger and disease. Sadly, for many this is still the case. So just how far have we come? Just how far have we advanced? Are we really a civilized society (collectively?) Could we pause for a moment and take a step back and reflect on where we came from to where we are now? Can we think on some things without name calling or finger pointing? From a biblical point of view man was created by God. But what if this weren’t really the truth at all? What if we were, as some scientists have suggested, “seeded” here by those meteorites that hit the earth eons ago? Meteorites containing small clusters of microbes and bacteria, capable of surviving, growing and adapting into more complex life forms?
Here’s something else to consider. Perhaps we were “created” by another race of “beings”. Maybe they knew, in advance, just how we would eventually turn out and didn’t like what they saw. Maybe we were an experiment and they goofed. They used a little “more” of this instead of a little “less” of that. We turned out just a little too toxic for them. A little too headstrong, a little too violent and they decided they didn’t want us “infecting” their world and thus created this planet for us to inhabit. Or, maybe they ripped around the universe in a frenzy trying to find a planet to dump us all onto and Voila! they bumped into Planet Earth. And just maybe, “they are watching us right now” as we continue our headlong rush back into the stone age where it may be about survival all over again…seeking shelter, food and fighting off hunger and disease. Is this where we are ultimately headed? Is it possible that we could be coming full circle? I’m not an eco-freak or anything like that but I am becoming more and more of the opinion that we are taking more from this planet then we are giving back. We’ve lost respect for and take for granted the things we wake up to each and every day. And it is becoming more and more apparent that mankind is sorely lacking in its ability to settle anything peacefully. This world has produced some wise and noble beings, who guided mankind for a short period of time, teaching us to set aside our differences, teaching us to learn to live peacefully side by side, regardless whether we be Christian, Jew, Muslim or other. But, sadly, this message became lost over a period of time and ended up being swept into a corner with the rest of the dust. These “wise men” were few and far between. And time and again we have seen that the world seems more interested in promoting the troublemakers and limiting or permanently ending the role of peacemakers. I believe, at this point in time, we are in very grave peril. And I believe we are fast approaching an epochal time in world history.

In my humble opinion I believe we may be faced with an “event.” Not necessarily something bad, some End of the World event that some predict may occur in 2012, but an event of another kind. An “Out of This World” event in which someone or some group, will drop out of the sky and pay us a visit. I do believe it has finally come down to this as we have shown that we are incapable of collectively working together toward the one goal required from all of us - and that is to make this world a better place for all mankind.

Faith, Hope and Charity

I was thinking this morning that this world is like one of those deflated rubber balls turned inside out; things are going backward instead of forward; it's like viewing the front side of the coin but not being able to see the back; standing before a mirror and gazing intently into it but all that gazes back at you is murkiness; full speed ahead but right in front of you is a concrete wall; knowing the songbird is singing but not being able to hear her song. We are, at breakneck speed, all of humankind, stampeding straight off the cliff. Respect, merit, integrity, humility, courtesy, patience, kindness. What ever happened to those virtues? I know they are still around but it seems they've been buried away somewhere. Are they being taught in our schools, our homes, our churches, synagogues,? I happened to go and renew the tag on my vehicle at the local licensing office. While there, two young women, I'd guess in their early twenties, worked the counter while an older woman was at the other end. One of the young women waited on me and in the course of doing so, delighted in making fun of the older woman who could not hear her remarks. I, a perfect stranger, in to do some business, and this young woman's actions caught me completely by surprise. I thought to myself just how many more of these young people are growing up acting like this? Then several months later, when applying for a job, I showed up at a small business with my application in hand. I walked in and was greeted by a woman who pulled my application out of the envelope and after quickly scanning over the information, promptly "interviewed" me on the spot. The manner in which this woman conducted the "interview", in a public place, instead of privately, in full view and earshot of her other employees, and clearly with some "axe to grind" as some of the questions asked of me and her body language made it quite clear I was fired before I even left her office. Again, what is it about some people who believe they have free will with how they treat other folks? This country has many problems but some of them can be easily cleared up by teaching our young people, and a few adults, how to handle their fellow human beings with more kindness and courtesy. Maybe even Congress will catch on.

Title IX Revenue Provisions—Subtitle A: Revenue Offset
"(Sec. 9002) Requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee
the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored group health coverage
that is excludable from the employee's gross income (excluding the value of
contributions to flexible spending arrangements)."
Starting in 2011—next year—the W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be
increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are provided.
It doesn't matter if you're retired. Your gross income WILL go up by the amount
of insurance your employer paid for. So you’ll be required to pay taxes on a larger
sum of money that you actually received. Take the tax form you just finished for
2009 and see what $15,000.00 or $20,000.00 additional gross income does to
your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year. For many it puts you into a
much higher bracket. This is how the government is going to buy insurance for
fifteen (15) percent that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases, but it's not really a "tax increase" as such, it a redefinition of your taxable income.
Also, go to Kiplinger's and read about the thirteen (13) tax changes for 2010 that
could affect you.
Why am I sending you this? The same reason I hope you forward this to every
single person in your address book. People have the right to know the truth because
an election is coming in November. So vote intelligently, based on your values.
But also adjust your tax withholding, or increase your savings, so that you aren't
surprised and put in a jam when your federal income taxes are due on April 15, 2012.

Obama's Jihad

I'm no Obama fan. As a matter of fact, I'm no McCain fan. But in all fairness, I have earnestly endeavored to uncover something of value that Obama has accomplished in the few short months he's been in office. So, I'll try. Here goes...Obama is a nice looking man. His walk kinda reminds me of what President Abe Lincoln's walk may have looked like if we caught a glimpse of him ambling down a rural road in southern Illinois. That lanky frame, that slow, rambling cadence, those long arms swinging slowly, back and forth, in tune with a hot, sultry, summer afternoon, the sun just beginning to set amidst a chorus of cicadas singing in the overhanging branches of purple wisteria, perfuming a lovely walkway. All Obama needs is the top hat. But when it comes to governing a nation, being a leader, stepping up to the plate in times of crisis, Obama is nowhere to be seen. When it comes to railroading through unconstitutional legislation, assailing, assaulting, and using mob-rule tactics to attack and overturn America's financial institutions, other companies that have operated for hundreds of years, without the heavy hand of the federal government, Obama looks the other way. Instead of leaving solutions to the private sector, loosening government regulations which will encourage economic growth, entrepreneurship, Obama and his administration have done just the opposite. They have, in just a few months, stripped this nation of its wealth and turned it on its head. We are no longer a solvent nation but one of insolvency, leaving a legacy of trillions of dollars of debt to its heirs for years and years to come. This was no accident. We haven't seen the results of Obamanomics and won't until January 1, 2011when the Bush tax cuts expire and Obama's tax hikes go into effect. We're all quite aware and probably quite tired of hearing about Obama's refusal to release any information relating to his birth, his law records, college transcripts, etc. But little by little, details are trickling out. Not only do we have solid substantiation of Obama's radical ties to Frank Davis, Communist, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Weather Underground, et. al, but we now are learning more and more about Obama's Muslim childhood upbringing. I wonder if there is a connection between this and Mr. Obama's obsequious overseas behavior (his bowing low to our Muslim enemies). In addition, Mr. Obama's refusal to call the Muslim Ft. Hood soldier who opened fire and killed his fellow soldiers a terrorist was another indicator of what I believe Mr. Obama's true internal feelings are. And may very well explain Mr. Obama's firm determination to end the building in East Jerusalem, Israel. Mr. Obama's anti-Israel proclivity which publicly exploded in his unbelievably discourteous treatment of Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and our only mideast ally, his blocking of the 2007 agreement in which bunker busters were to be delivered to Israel to be used for their defense against their attackers, of which their are countless many, is another question that begs for an answer. And then there's Mr. Obama's inexcusable absence on May 30, 2010, Memorial Day, in which he opted for a trip to Chicago and instead let Vice President Biden lay the wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. Just another indicator that Obama is no more interested in the history nor the sacrifices this country has made in the name of freedom, than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His nonchalant, disconnected, disassociated, detached doesn't give a damn attitude is not befitting a President of the United States. And this latest fiasco with the greatest environmental disaster in this country's history (my feelings) with the BP spill and his administration taking their sweet time to even acknowledge, let alone make a trip to the spill sight, is negligence of the highest order. Yes, President Bush made mistakes with Katrina we all know that but 57 days for a President to show any interest? There is something wrong with an administration and a President who clearly cannot come to grips with hour after hour of live t.v. feed showing pictures of a horrific explosion that killed eleven workers, gazillions of oil spewing forth from the bottom of the ocean, untold amounts of reporters, local, county and state officials sounding the alarm that we need help and we need it now. BP is in line for a huge amount of blame for being slow to react to this crisis and other missteps. But isn't a President supposed to act "Presidentially" when faced with a crisis? Isn't he supposed to act like he has a plan? Do SOMETHING??? Isn't he supposed to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way? Obama did none of these. He didn't even show up. It was like...."..no big deal, it's just a spill, it's only wiping out fisheries, peoples' livelihoods, the shrimp and crab industry, restaurants, fish hatcheries, and anyone else's livelihood connected with the fishing industry. Not to mention all the animals, birds, reptiles, fish, etc. that have perished. And this is now turning out to be a global catastrophe for LA, AL, MS, etc. as they export many of their products overseas. Again, my point, instead of fixing a problem, Obama has only added to one by ignoring it, by neglecting it. They haven't stepped up to the plate either. They sure can yell loud when they want something but when they're part of the problem, they've left the planet. They are a bunch of damned cowards. Don't they have to take some responsibility for where this oil rig was located when it blew up? As I understand it, they did not want this rig anywhere near the shoreline. Correct me if I am wrong. But back to my point. Mr. Obama does not care about fixing and building things up. Remember HOPE AND CHANGE? Which BTW He promised the American People. Yeah. Well, he lied. Obama is only interested in tearing down and destroying. One can see this by watching with one's own eyes what he's done these past few years. Obama is on a mission, Obama, the Muslim, is on a Jihad. Doesn't it make sense that the government would now focus on taking away this venue of information? It's just another step in the long process of a "whittling away of our Constitutional liberties." I'm sure they're couching this new takeover language in the softest possible terms. Yeah, just like that soft fluffy pillow they put over your face just before they.......
I used to count the three C's that make up the Obama admin but I neglected to add the most important one: (1) Confusion, followed by (2)Chaos which leads to (3)Conflict; and then (4) complete CONTROL.

I belong to the sacred, hallowed ground known as the battlefied. Dotting the landscape...blackened, desolate trees, lifeless tortured limbs, drooping, decimated branches, now stand as silent sentinels to the hundreds of thousands of valiant men who soaked the ground with their blood. I long for the battlefield, as morbid as that may sound. What is this...? I am somehow looking down upon my torn body lying on the ground, my helmet is somewhere nearby, having been violently flung off by an enemy battery, or a mortar round. I am bloodied, shaken, shattered and twisted, entangled in confusion as I lay among the wounded and those who have recently fallen and now, slowly turning cold. I cast my eyes toward a body whose own eyes stare vacantly back at me. My fingers, groping along, barely able to move, are now gently, tenderly reaching up toward his face, closing his eyelids. The lump in my throat is growing. The torrent of tears begins and will not stop. There is an emptiness that no word can define, a deepness, a sadness, a loss I feel, as I survey the ragtag bunch of human debris lying all around. I started out the war as a young man full of vitality and vigor. I was in the cavalry. I know, for all you young guys that are doing duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, that's a helluva long time ago. Of Scottish descent, my thick black wavy hair was a standout along with my great sense of humour. We were all "buddies" then, this group of young men. We could be found teasing one another, sitting around campfires, cleaning our weapons, cigarette smoke filling the air, while our horses were tethered nearby. Every so often we would hear them impatiently pawing the ground or a soft whinny. A cavalryman's horse was as important as his rifle. Sometimes we could be found doing the rotten and dirty work of sentry duty in the trenches. We became very close. Yet, somehow now, after my reddened eyes survey this vast expanse of desolation, I feel so very very old, so very very tired. Like the last bit of energy in my body has been spent. I just want this all to end. I have been fighting this war for such a long time. There have been so many battles, and I've endured the horror of watching so many of my buddies being injured or worse. Just yesterday, as we marched through the jungle, ahead of me there was an explosion. Everyone hit the ground. As it turned out, our Platoon Sgt. had just stepped on a land mine. Suddenly, everyone's world was turned upside down. It was like watching a picture in slow motion. I knew what had happened but my mind could not grasp it. Pieces of him were everywhere, even in my hair. Oh, what the hell. Another casualty - another casualty of war. All around me slow-motion running, confusion and screaming. What was real was now unreal. What was unreal was now real. Such is war. I'm wondering, "how many back home know what I'm going through right now?" "How many of them, snug and safe in their beds, know the hell that is war, the mental anguish"? Yet the young, so full of spirit, so full of life, know no bounds. Nothing can stop them. Their vigor, their vitality, their zest for life...an undying determination and love for country, freedom and liberty. Their patriotism, their sacrifices, have kept this country free and enabled her to become the greatest nation on earth. Comaraderie is one of the big things that gets a soldier through a war. And, of course letters from home. But a grateful nation means very much to those who put their lives on the line. How many people today really understand the liberties that were hard won for them and/or really appreciate them? There is a saying, "once something is lost, it is lost forever". A soldier comes up against circumstances that try his very soul, sorely test his personal character, his resolve and mettle. Sometimes, he finds himself wanting but he just keeps going anyway, in order to get the job done. So it was with us and our Revolutionary War soldiers. The inexperienced farmers, shopkeepers, bakers and candlestick makers. And many more who joined them from all walks of life. Make no mistake, The Yoke of Bondage and Tyrants are ever lurking in the shadows. And if a people are not instructed in the ways of liberty and metamorphis into ignorance and carelessness then they will have opened the door and invited Mr. Tyranny into their homes. To All My Fellow Soldiers, I proudly salute you this Memorial Day. You are truly My Brethren. The American soldier, even with his human frailities, but with devout allegiance to something greater than himself, has made this nation the greatest nation on earth. For on the battlefield is the true test of courage, a coming together of the body's two halves...one spiritual, one physical. They both meet on the Field of Honor and dare face the challenge of coming face-to-face with who they really are. To all you politicians who "think" you are running this country, think again. It is not you, the elite, the privileged, the arrogant, the cowards, who despise what sacrifices were and are still being made on your behalf, but it is to those brave men and women who have given their all. God Bless America. May Her Flag Continue to Wave, representing freedom and liberty for all mankind. And May we all remember the real reason why we celebrate this Memorial Day, May 30, 2010.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even
announced to the world," America is mean-
spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching
that nonsense to 23 generations of our
war dead buried all over the globe who
died for no other reason than to free a
whole lot of strangers from tyranny and
hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

Until we do something the Almighty's forbidden? Haven't we already? Then and only then did Pharoah relent. From my perspective, what I am seeing happening here in America, with the financial meltdown, and globally, rogue states (Iran et. al.) aspiring to wipe a tiny nation (Israel) "off the face of the earth," lawlessness, perversion, the unprecedented murdering of the unborn or the babies who are born but then chopped up, dismembered and tossed into a garbage can, the rise of homosexuality, a complete lack of courtesy and respect by our young people, untold groups and organizations determined to flaunt the laws of the land, this race or that race pitting itself against another race, corruption, deception, lying, thievery, debauchery, decadence, the troubling attacks on religious freedom here, it's any wonder we are in the trouble we are. We have lost our way. We have chosen, as a Nation, to turn our backs on a Righteous G-d as other gods have replaced Him. When we have a President and a Congress who lack the mettle, are more into tearing down, dividing, creating confusion and chaos, then calming and uniting, turning their backs on the Law of the Land, it's any wonder the turmoil that is engulfing us. This is not to say that this hasn't been coming on for years because it has. It's just that at this particular time in history, all of this has finally come to a head. What do we do about this? We need to get back to G-d. Get down on our knees and confess our transgressions, not only personally, but as a nation, and ask for forgiveness. We need to pray for our leaders, even those who are grossly misguided, and ask G-d to bless them with courage, wisdom and guidance. I believe that if we do not do these things, then we will continue to spiral out of control.

America You Stumbled, But All Is Not Lost

Suddenly the loud din of voices quickly subsided as all eyes were drawn to a white mist, as a ghostly apparition inexplicably started to take shape in a corner of the small room. It was an old gentleman, emerging slowly from the darkened shadows, sitting in a very worn and old high back chair. The chair was muted in color, faded pale yellow and dusky pink roses marking the arms and back. His hair was shoulder length and of a dull blackish silver, like an old coin that had been turned over and over between one's fingers. The soft folds of his blouse showed beneath his stubbled chin. His eyes were of an intense blue like that of the sailor's sea. There was an eerie feeling of electricity in the air as the gathering knew that the apparition was there to speak. Not one sound was heard. Straightening himself, he slowly rose with the help of an exquisitely turned beechwood cane. His eyes surveyed the crowd that now surrounded him. He steadied himself. His voice penetrated the air like a razor sharp knife, his words stinging, yet resonating deep within the hearts of all who were listening. "The people elected a tyrant. What pains me to the core, even more, is they did it willingly. To have come this far, in this fine Republic, to have seen with my own eyes, the many sacrifices that were laid down, from Her Beginning, by the most Honorable of Them, and then to have those all swept away, is something unfathomable. What foolhardiness, unwise, imprudent, and thoughtlessness, prompted those citizenry to throw caution asunder, in favor of emotional self-delusion that has now brought utter folly to their nation? Have they lost their wits? Have they lost their honor? Have they lost their virtue? Have they no shame? Or are these irreplaceables those things that have been derelict in not being taught from one generation to another all these years? To all I must now say, what has been done cannot be undone. The fate of the people is now sealed, for a time. I must grievously and sorely counsel that this will be an intolerable time of hardship for this Republic. I having lived and traveled extensively in many countries need to remind you of their bitter experiences. They in advance knew what lay ahead, yet with despotic governments at their very doorsteps, they resisted those tyrants who would wrestle those liberties from them. They sacrificed their very lives to defend them. But you?? You embraced the Despot, the Tyrant. You surrendered to the Sycophant and in so doing, tainted your very souls and despoiled your country. He wailed his siren song and you swooned by the millions. I remember all to well, in my travels abroad, casting my eyes downward at the tattered bodies of those patriots, lying in crumpled heaps on scorched, sacred, bloodied and hallowed grounds. Breathing in the odiferous, pungent stench of death that one can never shake off his boot. The sweet fragrant smell of flowers that now covers them all, the only remembrance of their sacrifices, yet for a few stone monuments placed here and there by those generations that still remember. And I, and the Lord God Almighty, who visit yet eternal. Yet their homelands today stand free and strong. As the brutual, conquering hordes drove them into small bands, they did not yield, they did not crumble, they did not waiver, but with one voice and one resolve, they stood their ground and fought for what was theirs -- their God given right to Liberty and Life and the Pursuit of Happiness. These laws are not regulated by any Government but are freely given by God Almighty to all mankind. This is why the Framers of the Constitution put so many safeguards into place so that the usurpation of powers by the Federal Government could not take place which amounts to Tyranny which, sadly, you just allowed to happen. This is why I am here today, speaking with you. I am one of those who signed that document so many years ago. I have been watching the events unfolding here on your soil. The calamitous proceedings taking place as the people continue to lose their freedoms. Please note this very well. Evil, once it takes hold, is very hard to dislodge. Its tentacles run deep. I know all too well that you are facing evil in the form of a tyrannical takeover of your constitutional republican form of government. Evil can be very deceptive. It can be candy-coated, disguise itself in different forms, be very seductive, come in different colors and flavors, and it preys on the weak, the careless, the young, the infirm, the ignorant, the naive, the illiterate, the old... He glanced upward...I see that my my time is growing short. I am glad I had this opportunity to speak with you today and hope you will ponder the meaning of the words I just spoke. He smiled. I see from the look on some faces that some of you have already caught on. Ahhh, now I can return to whence I came knowing that perhaps my time was well spent and not in vain. My Dear Friends I leave you now, to ponder well. In Liberty..."

Foul Play

Things are really beginning to smell in Washington, D.C. It's seeing an open, oderous, gangrenous, draining, festering wound growing more repulsive by the hour. Instead of cutting off the foul and rotten flesh, suturing up the patient and administering a healthy dose of antibiotics the frenzied, maniacal Doctor is hell-bent on trying to kill the patient. The patient (what was once a vibrant, healthy country not too long ago) is quickly being infected by a bunch of revolutionaries with one idea in mind - what's yours is ours. That means education (well that's a no brainer); the banking system; automobile industry; health care; energy policies (green jobs but no oil or gas drilling, no coal mining, no nuclear power plants, so in the meantime we're sitting back, having a cold one and watching China and Russia drilling right off our shores); and pretty soon, I dare say, it could be our transportation industry as some changes are already underway for certain sectors of this industry. I know because I've already attended a meeting that is going to affect the way I do business, personally. It is painfully clear that Obama and many in Congress care not for the rule of law that binds us all, but like an out of control wrecking ball, are making rules to suit their own totalitarian agenda in order to enslave us all. Obama et. al. are making sweeping changes to this country. These are not for good of country but are being implemented under Obama's ideological plan for revolutionary change. Someone called Mr. Obama's changes a "soft revolution." Well that may be so. But I think I can say with certainty that not too far down the road Mr. Obama is going to be faced with a real revolution and it ain't gonna be soft. A big thank you to all you veterans, all you bravehearts, all you commoners, all you who rally 'round the flag for the good of country. "Come one and come all as we gather at the old Town Hall...hoist the flag, join the throng, time to tip a glass or two, Obama don't know it, but we're here to crow it, we're fed up to here and it's one term fer you".

Obama's Three "Cs" of Change..Confusion, Chaos, Conflict


The winds of change, they will gently steer you into safe harbor or violently blow you off course, into dangerous, ugly and uncharted waters where quite possibly neither seasoned mariner nor stout ship will survive the savagery of an unforgiving sea unless these things are working for him: His skill, wits, strength, courage, tenacity, and last but not least, his faith. So now appears we have a situation in this country with a Congress and an administration who, like a pack of rabid wolves, are clawing and tearing the very fabric of this country apart. Now each of us must dig deep down to find those same attributes that will help us through this test of swill. The ruthlessness with which these thugs approach their prey (us), and their determination to immobilize the citizenry by death through legislation, the majority of Americans having clearly indicated they do not want, is treachery, pure and simple. What we are witnessing is not something we are reading about in a classroom history book--it is history in the making. This is something to behold. It is 1776 all over again. And now we are going to have to clean House all over again (Senate too) if we want ourselves, our families and our way of life to survive this dictatorship we unknowingly invited into our homes on November 2008. This President and his merry band are having a field day with the Constitution and our way of life. We only have ourselves to blame. We cordially invited the King to our feast, and wouldn't you know it, the dining couldn't have been better. Can You Spell Bondage?

Why won't they listen to the people, who keep shouting from the rooftops, steeples? Yet from the depths of darkest night these vampires stealthily prepare to strike. I hang my head in disbelief as I watch those sacrosanct and hallowed halls known as the Senate start to fall. Their victims fail to feel the bite until their fevers start to spike. With funereal eyes and putrid breath the vampires hover over their last conquest...a once beautiful mass of humanity, now littering the ground like maggoty. Reid, Pelosi and the gang now will gong on metal bang. They'll toast and shout and twist and turn the knife they've planted inside us burn. They've killed us all with "Health Care" Bill. They've murdered us with poison pill. I'd like to know how we did vote for a bunch of "cut our throats". This nation won by Founders Stout, World War Vets and many Bravehearts I have not met, who've given all for this Grand Land but now it looks like underhand. Can you spell BONDAGE? Look it up because will be our bitter cup for years to come I'm afraid to say because of the vote we cast that day.

"Plunk Your Magic Twanger Froggy"


Maybe some of you are old enough to remember the kids television program many years ago (1940s -1950s) that featured a feisty frog and this plucky saying. Fast forward to the present. Maybe we could apply this same saying to Congress and they would all just magically disappear. Now wouldn't that be nice. Hopefully, by November, many of us will have grown enough new brain matter that this situation will be taken care of by a stampede as we all head to the polls. I am almost embarrassed to watch the shenanigans going on with this bunch as they ramrod through "their" version of Health Care for America while sitting back and drawing their paychecks. It would be downright funny if it weren't so downright serious. The February Health Care Shammit was a waste of everybody's time. The Leaders of the Pack already had their minds made up and it was just another opportunity to grandiose and grandstand and rub the opposition's nose into the dirt. Who gave them the right to mess around with our health care anyway? I don't remember anyone callin me on the phone or showin up at my front door. And, its been workin well so far. Yes, we have problems but we can fix them, not sink the entire system. This isn't for the good of the country, or the poor, or anyone or anything else but just another all out frontal power grab and nothing more. It's damn the torpedos and full speed ahead, "we're coming to get you Margaret", no matter what. They're determined to sink the ship of state with all hands on board. I really have to wonder if these "public servants" have any problem looking their wives, their children, their grandchildren in the eye when they talk to them. Especially when we all know that they've sanctioned pieces of legislation they haven't even read, (it's too time consuming and they have staffers so figure that one out) talked endlessly about how good it is, how it will do this, how it won't do that, and then continue to lie to us when we ask pointed questions. This is an Orwellian Nightmare. How do these creeps sleep at night? And of course they will exempt themselves from the quagmire they are creating for the rest of us, the Doctors, insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, medical students, Medicare, Medicaid, young, the elderly, etc. And they know what they are doing they just the hell don't care. You Congressmen, and especially you Ms. Pelouzey, it sure must be nice to fly back and forth on People Air and hand us the bill. It sure must be nice to be able to afford a couple of nice homes in lieu of the fact that so many American families are losing theirs, and make what...$180K a year, with all the perks, and then add the piece de resistance, vote yourselves an annual automatic pay raise. But I do have one question.... with all the hoopla, fanfare and attention being given to National Health Care, who is minding this nation's National Security? Hmmmm

From Cave Man to Afghanistan

Have we finally come full circle...reaching the end of that long journey that we humans began thousands of years ago in the dark recesses of a cave? Could it be that we might just be witnessing that end being played out before our eyes as a rag-tag group of cave-dwellers ruthlessly assails an enemy, a well-equipped group of techo-soldiers? Who will win this war? Will it be the cave dwellers or the techo-soldiers? Instead of spears and fire these cave dwellers' weapons are now IEDs(Improvised Explosive Devices) and RPGs (Rocket-Propelled Grenades). As human beings, we started out on this journey not knowing anything other than we were here. And whether by accident or through the intervention of a higher power, we slowly ascended upward. We gained knowledge of how to survive in a harsh and uncompromising world. We learned how to make fire, roast meat and stay warm. We learned how to use the hides and leftovers from animals to clothe and shod us. Did we at first grieve for those we lost or was this a learned experience? We learned how to make bigger and better weapons. When did we learn to integrate with others or did some of us not learn at all? Did we kill another clan because we did not understand who or what they were, because we were afraid? Did the peoples of the earth evolve at different levels? It is plain to see that something happened. We know, according to the scientists, that before the Great Flood there were many more different peoples who inhabited this earth. What a pity we do not know who or what they were. Right now we have on earth a number of races, a myriad of people, a vast sea of colors, faces, beliefs, good, bad, indifferent. And, we are all still connected by one common bond...Hatred. Why is it that we still have certain groups of people who are hell bent on wiping out other groups of people? Is it some kind of genetic malevolent gene? Mankind has put together its hopes and dreams for a better world into an organization known as the UN, people search for answers to questions in their churches and synagogues as to why bad things happen, charities abound for disasters such as the earthquake that just devastated Haiti, governments continue to grapple with seemingly unsolvable problems and all the while we have those groups of men who, for one reason or other, known only to them, want to harm others. Whether the innocent get in their way makes no difference to them. So maybe the end is in sight? Maybe a miracle will happen and an end to all the bloodshed? Maybe a Just G-d will float down right in the middle of a fire fight and stand on the desert floor right in plain view of everyone. The gun fire will cease, jaws will drop, the smoke will clear, Muslims and Christians will fall to their knees, and everyone will drop their weapons, no more fighting...and G-d will speak, "See, so easy, even a Caveman can do it".

Why I'm Dropping Google

For a company whose unofficial slogan is "Don't Be Evil," Google has been ignoring its so-called core value with alarming frequency as of late. And because of that, I decided to delete my Gmail account, along with all other Google services that I am able to do without. I have also deleted as much personal information as possible from my Google profile. I still need to use some Google services--I have clients who share a couple of documents via Google Docs, I need to access one private blog on Blogger, and I will continue to use Google search (though I plan on exploring alternatives, such as Bing and Yahoo). But for the most part, I'm dropping Google wherever I can. It was a combination of recent incidents that drove me to this point. One was the introduction of Google Buzz, which, in some cases, disclosed contact information that users thought was private. When Google launched Buzz, its "social networking tool," the company didn't let users opt into the program, but automatically applied it to all of the millions of users of the company's free Gmail. Google quickly backtracked, but it is not clear whether the "turn off Buzz" link at the bottom of Gmail pages truly purges the links that Google created.
The second incident was the recent deletion of a number of music blogs from Google's Blogger and Blogspot platforms without even notifying the owners of the blogs or attempting to determine whether the shutdowns were valid. This is not the first time that Google has pulled the plug on music blogs because of DMCA complaints, but some bloggers claim that their blogs were perfectly legal), because they had permission for every track they posted. While MP3 and music blogs are a popular way of distributing copyrighted content without the owners' permission, not every such blog is violating the law. A similar shutdown of blogs last year lead to Google's developing new guidelines, but this current incident shows that someone at Google didn't read the new rules. Google's actions in these incidents were certainly not accidental, and they are part of a growing trend. Whether it be Google's censorship of search results for Chinese users--the company helped build the Great Firewall of China before it was against it--or Google CEO Eric Schmidt's flip comment regarding privacy ("If you have something that you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place."), Google has become a corporation that has strayed from its initial values. By choosing an opt-out model for Buzz that basically forced all Gmail users to become a part of this service, Google simply hoped that everyone would ignore this lack of choice and accept it tacitly, so the next time it wanted to impose new features, people would consider it normal. That choice failed, fortunately. Google has become so monolithic that it has reached the point of a near-monopoly in certain areas. To be fair, no other search engine comes close to Google in quality, and, while the company should be lauded for that, it's the way Google uses that search engine, and related services, that makes it the Standard Oil of the 21st century. (I won't discuss the potential issues involving Google Books; or how the company is milking news organizations via Google News; or the many other issues that one could raise about the company.)
But not only does Google dominate the search (and, hence, advertising) market, it also knows a lot about you. By adding more and more "free" services--free in exchange for the annoyance of ads, and for users' giving up their privacy--Google accumulates a wealth of information about your interests, your browsing habits, your contacts, the blogs you visit (using your Google profile), pictures of your home, and much more. (Do you know how much information Google has connected to your Gmail address? Check here: You may be surprised.) Not only does Google have this information on its servers, but if anyone were to be able to hack into your Google account, they'd have a wealth of information about you too (and your business, if you use Google Docs for business documents). (Note that, for those who use Firefox, there's an add-on, Google Sharing, that lets you use most Google tools without sharing any private data.) And all that information, and all those "free" services, are amassed and provided for one simple goal: to follow your every movement on the Internet and show you ads related to your searches, e-mails and documents. Many people accept the "free" services in spite of those ads, which, when you look closely, often depend on the content of your personal e-mails. Is the Trojan horse of free e-mail, YouTube videos, and online word processing documents worth giving up one's privacy, all so a company can make billions from ads? (Your personal information and search habits earned Google more than $6 billion in profits last year.) For me, it's not. Google knows more about you than the NSA, and has recently shown that it doesn't give a hoot about your privacy. The company has gotten too big, and has turned into just another corporation trying to maximize its assets--and those assets are you. Who's to say Google won't progressively loosen its privacy controls and monetize more and more personal information? I'm ditching Google as much as I can, and when a competitor develops a search engine as good as Google, I'll stop searching with Google, too. The trend that Google has been following has been looking darker and darker as the company nibbles away at the limits of privacy. This is no longer a company I trust.

Choices - They Have Repercussions


Choices, they can either make or break us. Governments are no different. The choices big governments make have a much greater impact because they affect entire nations of people. Interesting to watch the ebb and flow of a country as it transits through its ups and downs, its peaks and valleys, as it valiantly rises to one occasion or maybe crashes and burns in a fiery crescendo as it heads toward its final descent. The little guy is at their mercy. What is so hopeful about this country is that every two years the people have a say in electing a new bunch to run things if they think the old bunch has not lived up to their expectations. What is truly sad is the olive branch of hope that the last administration extended to an eager nation and the "about face" that it took after only one year. There is not one administration that is going to please all the people all the time for that is just plain foolishness. But can't one of them get one thing right at least once? And the out and out deception and lying....I know, they all do it but, please, I am truly nauseated and disgusted by this one. If there ever were a Grand Prize for Lying they would have already won it. And the other administrations, they are a very close second. On another subject, I cannot figure out this President nor this Congress. We are in a recession, right? At least that's what they are telling us. So, if we are in a recession and we have a jobless rate of over 9% doesn't it make sense to create jobs to get the economy rolling again? Because a recession means that the people aren't spending because there are no jobs. And yet we are now hearing about another Stimulus package and the President just created some sort of Stimulus/Debt/Deficit Panel to study the debt problem. Isn't it clear that we do not need any more panels or commissions or studies to study what we already know how to fix? MR. PRESIDENT THE PROBLEM IS YOUR ADMINISTRATION IS NOT CREATING ANY JOBS. YOU NEED TO SET ASIDE "STIMULUS" MONEY FOR JOB CREATION. YOU KNOW, SMALL BUSINESS STARTUPS, ENTREPRENEURS. ALOT OF INNER CITY YOUTHS ARE LOOKING FOR JOBS, PEOPLE IN RURAL AREAS, BIG CITIES, ETC. FOR GOODNESS SAKE, THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. Why is it that you and your administration can't get what the rest of us can? When will you get it? Do you even intend to get it? And if not, why not? Don't you think these questions needed answers long ago by a President who promised so much to so many? Does Mr. Obama even care about the millions of Americans who have lost jobs, homes, livelihoods? Whose families have been turned upside down by his feckless decisions? I honestly don't think Mr. Obama gives one hoot. I believe Mr. Obama, just likes to hear himself speak. I believe that Mr. Obama is livin the life in the White House, at the expense of the American taxpayer. Just partyin, bowlin, sittin back in that easy chair, watchin that big screen T.V. Enjoying Beluga Caviar, Champagne (who's payin for that by the way...the White House or the American taxpayer?) I am sorry but Mr. Obama kinda reminds me of Hugo Chavez, without the parrot of course, although you never know. He might decide to try one. But then again it could be a little distracting when you're trying to use that teleprompter, hmmmm....

Soule, Afterthought....
I really don't like the way I am feeling right now. Is it because of the fellow who flew his small plane into a building in Austin, Texas because of a personal problem/vendetta? Or is it because the Fed just raised the interest rate a quarter percent and in so doing a major news media organization just proclaimed that "it's too little too late?" This organization went on to offer advice, suggestions, as to how to protect your financial assets in this new period of financial crisis that is coming. And hasn't Japan just overtaken China as our major debt holder? The worldwide web, isn't it great? You get the bad news right along with the good, with one keystroke. What is that nagging feeling that keeps dogging me? I know what it is...with all the reckless spending that has been going on, ad nausoblivion, just when is some one or some thing going to pull the rug right out from under us? Tomorrow, next week, next year? And the answer is...we just don't know. But hasn't the government put us on very slippery footing? What happens when one of us drains our own bank accounts of money? We pay a price in the form of expensive overdraft charges and trying to find a way to replenish our account via a loan or waiting for our next pay check. Not so with the government. Our government is not telling us the truth of our economic situation but I'm beginning to connect the dots and I do not like the shameful pattern that is slowly taking shape, its tentacled cloth slowly emerging from the spinner's wheel.

Life...A "Tour of Duty"

There are lights that burn brightly in the darkness, lights that burn bright in the hearts of men. But there are circumstances that would snuff those lights out. It would be so easy if we all could just simply embrace an "All-Seeing, All-Knowing, All-Governing" Force that patiently and consistently oversees all earthly matters. But many of us cannot. Many of us tend to take our destinies into our own hands. WE can handle anything. WE can do it all. WE have all the answers, until something WE can't handle befalls us and we spiral out of control. So how does one go on after a traumatic life-changing event? How does one begin all over again after we find ourselves, a fragile egg, dropped out of our warm and cozy little egg carton onto a cold tiled floor, and now we're lying there, cracked into a million pieces? And more importantly...why? I didn't ask for this. Why did this happen to Me? At least in the military, when they sign on that dotted line, they have some idea what to expect. But, still, when they go to war, are wounded, or watch their buddies being killed, right in front of them, it is still going to cause long-term trauma. But you, you didn't sign on any dotted line...or did you? Did you have a quiet, heart-to-heart chat with G-d before you were born as to what you would agree to experience or not experience while you were here? Or did G-d just pass out a homework assignment to each one of you to complete where you either pass/fail? If you get a Pass you go on but boy oh boy if you get an F, it's back for another term. I don't believe any one prepares us for this Tour of Duty called "Life." And definitely none of us get through unscathed. The question is, how do we prepare for it, this journey? Should schools teach a course in it starting with Kindergarten? Should we bring this to the attention of our Priests, Ministers, Rabbis so that every Sabbath and Sunday they start to help us prepare? It seems as if we're all thrown down here in a giant blender. We're all mixed up. No one to lead and we're all going off in different directions. Everybody has questions, no one has answers. We're all on our own. Like an octopus on steroids, we're all flailing around. But I personally believe that there is a supernatural Force that is watching over everything and everyone. No matter what race, no matter what our circumstance. For me it is very simple to say as I have experienced this Force on many different levels and on many different occasions. For others who have not, it will be difficult to accept. How do I know this? Well, from a very early age I was very interested in spiritual matters and had and continue to have some very interesting experiences. Some would call them paranormal. Some have been of a very dark nature which have left a lasting impression and which I do not care to experience again. But I have no say in this matter. Others of a wonderful enlightening nature which I embrace with my whole being. Being an Empath is both a curse and a Blessing. I also have a repoire with animals that is truly wonderful. After many years and quite a bit of stumbling around and quite a few heated and angry conversations with G-d, I guess He got a bit tired of hearing from me and finally decided to reveal to me my true nature...why I was put here on this earth. I'm glad He did as it put alot of nagging questions to rest. But I went through an awful lot of pain, turmoil and unpleasant experiences before I reached a point where I believe that G-d felt I had finally arrived at (His) point in time. I finally had agreed to work according to His terms, not mine. I finally had grown up, after going through some very painful experiences, even though I didn't know why I was going through them at the time. This was all so that I could reach a point (G-d's point) to where I was ready for Him to receive me at His level so that I could actually be prepared enough to go to work for Him. Do you understand? This was all preparation planning. I had to earn my degree, so to speak. After looking back on all of this it is clear now that it wasn't "time" for me to come to realize who or what I was. I was just a bumbling, stumbling idiot. So here's a clear case of someone going through pain, not knowing why, searching for answers, and not finding them but not giving up. Continuing to have a dialogue with G-d, and continuing to search for answers. Even though I didn't hear from G-d going through all this, and not hearing any answers as to why, I don't feel that He "abandoned" me. It just wasn't time for me to know what He wanted me to know. So the morale of this is....G-d Never Fails, Don't Give Up, Even When You Don't Hear the Answers to Your Questions (They Will Come) And Most Importantly...Prayer, The Most Powerful Force in the World. Try It. It's Free. How Many Things Are Free That Actually Work???? Can't Get A Better Guarantee Than That. Believe Me, I Know.

What Was That "Whooshing" Sound? Why It Was Just the President, Silly....

Has anyone picked up on this? Doesn't it seem odd for a President, who has a solid history of ignoring the minority party, at every opportunity, from even attempting to get to first base to present their solutions to this country's woes? Lambasting them time after time, and then, in an about face, that would make even the most strident Marine proud, decide that now is the time to reach out to them? It's really a good idea, Mr. President as anytime you can engage more problem-solving individuals together, the more discussions will lead to new ideas and solutions. And seeing that you and your administration have scr.....well, we'll just let that one go. The speed - whoosh! with which you made it to Baltimore to meet with those "wascily" Republicans was truly astonishing. I thought Superman was dead. Just what prompted you to act so quickly and make the effort to embrace your Republican brethren now? Could it possibly have anything to do with the outcome of the Massachusetts Senate race that blew everyone away? I think so. And, I believe that this will not be the only race turning Washington on its head. In fact I can pretty much guarantee it so treat your new relationship with courtesy and kindness. Because you're gonna need em more than they're gonna need you. I think the real reason, you decided to meet so quickly with them is this....you now realize, maybe even fear, that you are losing power and control. Maybe you are finally seeing the handwriting on the wall. Well, one can only hope. Maybe, just maybe, Barack Hussein Obama is now learning something about the country he was elected to lead, not by the nose, but by the hand, together. Something of deep, intrinsic value, some "thing" that is deeply rooted in this country's history and in its founding. A country where the people have the power and the people have the control. And when they see somethin that needs fixin, they take it to the polls. Mr. President, you're on the right path. But let's hope you're not playin us for the fools you once thought we were (still are?) again.
