1. Life means suffering.

To live means to suffer, because the human nature is not perfect and neither is the world we live in. During our lifetime, we inevitably have to endure physical suffering such as pain, sickness, injury, tiredness, old age, and eventually death; and we have to endure psychological suffering like sadness, fear, frustration, disappointment, and depression. Although there are different degrees of suffering and there are also positive experiences in life that we perceive as the opposite of suffering, such as ease, comfort and happiness, life in its totality is imperfect and incomplete, because our world is subject to impermanence. This means we are never able to keep permanently what we strive for, and just as happy moments pass by, we ourselves and our loved ones will pass away one day, too.

2. The origin of suffering is attachment.

The origin of suffering is attachment to transient things and the ignorance thereof. Transient things do not only include the physical objects that surround us, but also ideas, and -in a greater sense- all objects of our perception. Ignorance is the lack of understanding of how our mind is attached to impermanent things. The reasons for suffering are desire, passion, ardour, pursuit of wealth and prestige, striving for fame and popularity, or in short: craving and clinging. Because the objects of our attachment are transient, their loss is inevitable, thus suffering will necessarily follow. Objects of attachment also include the idea of a "self" which is a delusion, because there is no abiding self. What we call "self" is just an imagined entity, and we are merely a part of the ceaseless becoming of the universe.

3. The cessation of suffering is attainable.

The cessation of suffering can be attained through nirodha. Nirodha means the unmaking of sensual craving and conceptual attachment. The third noble truth expresses the idea that suffering can be ended by attaining dispassion. Nirodha extinguishes all forms of clinging and attachment. This means that suffering can be overcome through human activity, simply by removing the cause of suffering. Attaining and perfecting dispassion is a process of many levels that ultimately results in the state of Nirvana. Nirvana means freedom from all worries, troubles, complexes, fabrications and ideas. Nirvana is not comprehensible for those who have not attained it.

4. The path to the cessation of suffering.

There is a path to the end of suffering - a gradual path of self-improvement, which is described more detailed in the Eightfold Path. It is the middle way between the two extremes of excessive self-indulgence (hedonism) and excessive self-mortification (asceticism); and it leads to the end of the cycle of rebirth. The latter quality discerns it from other paths which are merely "wandering on the wheel of becoming", because these do not have a final object. The path to the end of suffering can extend over many lifetimes, throughout which every individual rebirth is subject to karmic conditioning. Craving, ignorance, delusions, and its effects will disappear gradually, as progress is made on the path.

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the commencements----not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every one of them, SNEEZED !

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said,

'GOD BLESS YOU'
And walked off stage...

The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.

And, GOD BLESS YOU.

I have only just begun to be able to glimpse the whole; not the pieces, like before.  

There is a wonderfully beautiful as yet to be revealed realm that surrounds all of us, enveloping mankind.    

At the present time we are scattered; we are shattered, like glass.

But I sense a newness...something coming, some type of unification, something indescribable in its implication(s), purity and dazzling in its beauty, its message.

We Are All G-ds

There are different levels of understanding and illumination.

Some people are very aware of subtle things happening, while others are unable to pick up on them.   

I am sensing a new cycle beginning in which the same past events and the same people have shaped our lives and our world before, and this cycle is happening all over again.

It is repetition and nothing new--just how the universe works.

If you sit quietly, with no distraction, and listen to the sounds and the silence all around you, whether it be during the day or in the evening, you will grasp a little of what I am trying to describe.

You will begin to sense a loving, harmonic vibration that continuously winds around us and through us and throughout the cosmos like a silken ribbon.    

The trouble is, we're too busy to even notice it.

In order for us to get through this thing called Life we must learn some things and most of the time it's the hard way.  Why is that?

If you are experiencing anxiety about the future, questioning the acts of others, feeling angry or perplexed or confused as to which path to take now, I urge you to take a few moments out of your day, whether you're at work, on the road, or at home and connect with the G-d Force within you.

Partake of its life-giving nectar.

Now, more than ever before, I believe events which have just transpired and those near on the horizon, are telling us there is more than just living out lives that have no worth.  There is some sort of connection taking place.

Now, more than ever before, I believe the Cosmos and the G-d Force within each of us is gently nudging us toward a new direction.

This G-d Force is communicating with us through beautiful imagery such as crop circles, music, enlightened leaders such as the Dali Llama, meditation and prayer.

Yes, there are those who will refuse to hear and stubbornly insist on continuing to engorge their already swollen egos.

This is Ying and Yang.  The momentum of the universe as it swings gently back and forth, as error is committed and the correction made.

None of us are alone in our struggles here.  There are those who are here to help.

They are knocking but we must answer.

Take the first step:  Promise yourself you're going to take time to connect with this vibration.  Then set aside the time to do it.

Understand that there are unseen forces out there much larger than you or I could ever imagine.

They are not bad.  They are good.

They and we are parts of one another.

We are their celestial fragments.

They are here to help.  But the first step is up to you.

It's All Coming Together

I am reading an account in which a Being, who walked this earth thousands of years ago, was recently channelled and the information he provides on how our own universe was created, and that there are millions of other universes and galaxies (not just our own Milky Way Galaxy), planets and stars.

>That there are many dimensions to existence and that different forms of life reside within these dimensions.  

>That our planet is a 3Dimensional planet and that we human beings have been stuck in the Dark Ages of ignorance (evil) for eons but help is on its way.  

>This help is coming from those who are called "The Light Workers" and they are here to raise our consciousness to a higher level of understanding so that we will finally know, once and for all, that we are not just some blue ball suspended in space but that we have a lot of company out there.  And they are reaching across the miles to us.

>The Omniverse is what this Being defines as this gigantic collection of universes that we are a part of and that Prime Creator is the force behind this.

I also happened to read a post this morning that coincidentally resonated the very same message that this Being was sharing and one I have previously posted that...we are all one.

Even though there are millions of other universes, the message is that we are all connected.  And that the inhabitants of these other planets only want what we want...peace and happiness.

Oneness - what exactly does this mean?  And how is it that this Truth only resonates with very few?

It is a fact that there are those on this planet who continue to do evil, continue to delight in doing evil...making people's lives miserable, amassing all the power and money they can, while those in their presumed care are ravaged, subjugated and reduced to suffering in the most horrible and brutal manner from neglect, disease, crime, abuse, starvation.

This Being stated that there will be consequences assigned to those who continue to commit these acts against others.

Oneness - how in the world do you get this message across to those whose bodies and minds are so poisoned with drugs and who have known only violence as a normal way of life?  They show neither remorse nor regret as they unleash their fury on some poor innocent soul(s) who happens to unknowingly stumble across their path.

The answer is you cannot.

These are the ones who have made their choice; these are the ones who have committed themselves to ardent wrongdoing; these are the ones who are so far down the dark path there is no help for them as they will not and utterly refuse to turn back from their abhorrent behaviour.  

Know that these souls will be identified, rounded up, and their records of accountability will be sequestered and thus read by those Universal Elements who were created for just this task....sifting out the bad from the good.

The Universe will have its day of reckoning.

I believe we are headed for earth changes of great magnitude.  Not man-made but normal events, albeit, not witnessed by any human being before.  I believe this is all a part of the process in which our earth is slowly ascending, being raised to a new, purer and higher level of vibration in which our human frequencies will all be attuned to whole of Creation.

We all fear the unknown.  The unknown is what we cannot see.  But I believe a path to less fear and acceptance of what is to come is one of prayer in which we humbly submit ourselves to a higher authority, a Prime Creator, a Being of such Supreme Intelligence, that we are only beginning to perceive.

Black, White and Tan

Yesterday evening, after driving a long distance, I stopped at a gas station to fill up.  I noticed a young dog wandering aimlessly with his nose constantly to the ground.  He was a light tan color.  

Just then, a  van pulled up next to me and an older black man got out.  I continued to fill my gas tank and then watched as he purposely walked toward the little animal and emptied something onto the ground.  

The little dog  immediately made his way over to the man.  Then the gentleman turned and started walking back toward his van.  As he passed near I said to him, "that was a nice thing to do."  His response, "I knew the little fella was hungry."

I immediately remembered the remnants of afternoon's lunch still reposing nicely in my trunk.  It was a  styrofoam container full of rib bones and some rice pilaf.  

I finished filling my gas tank and walked around to open up my trunk.  I pulled out the container and walked toward the little dog.  He didn't run but stayed put, his tail wagging happily as he hungrily gulped down the meal.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if this caught on?  Something so simple, so profound, so full of love, one of those random acts of kindness we hear about but this time directed toward a helpless animal.

Aren't we helpless animals, in one way or the other, at some time in our lives?

As I was pulling away from the station I waved at the old gentleman and he waved back.  

I was thinking...two total strangers connected together that day through an act of love and kindness, and all because of a little dog who had lost its way.
