A Tribute to Those Who Lost Their Lives at Ft. Hood, TX

There is nothing to say
No words to express
What happened
To them
The carnage, the mess
Soldiers returning
From duty abroad
Who just wanted
Home…
On their
Own piece of
Sod
And then
Out of nowhere
A man on a mission
Who'd made a decision
He’d take out his frustration
Without hesitation
How convenient
His timing
His place of attack
His victims
Who had no
Chance to fight back
They weren’t even armed
How handy for him
All the more easy
For his aim to strike limbs
While his targets were
Fleeing for their very lives
He continued to fire
Giving vent to his ire
Well now that it’s over
I feel very sad
For the families
Our military
For the moms
And the dads
For the wives
and the husbands
For the sons and the daughters
For what we just witnessed
This terrible slaughter
By a Muslim, no less
This I was not going to say
But after reflection
I’m saying it, anyway
Because I’m sorry to say
I’m seeing a pattern
And you well better to
Because if you don’t
Then shame on you

Soule: Where is the American Muslim Community? Are they tongue tied? Do they or do they not live in this country? If they do not speak out against this atrocity then they are sanctioning what this man did. What are they afraid of? It is time to speak up.
