We're All in This Together

no one can presume, with any certainty, to know the facts, other than those who experienced it, to feel or even possibly begin to fathom the depth of despair and hopelessness of the Jewish people as they were forcefully marched off to the gas chambers; nor the pain and suffering of millions of Russians who were brutally slaughtered during the Russian Revolution, and during WWII; nor the Cambodians who were murdered, by the millions, at the hands of Pol Pot.  there are many more examples of horrific atrocities committed and being committed by human beings on this planet.   hopefully, the times we are in will soon send a very clear message that this is not acceptable, anymore.  this morning i read the Drudge Report and one particular headline really reached out and grabbed me....the historic and unprecedented flooding now taking place in Minot, North Dakota.  i'm seeing alot of these words, lately...historic, unprecedented, biblical.  it doesn't matter  whether you live in India, Pakistan, Germany, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Uruguay, Russia, Chile, China, Japan, Peru, France, the U.S. or Timbuktu.  for the first time on this planet, we are (all together now) being chastened and hastened as we stumble headlong toward some kind of quantum mix.  there's nothing quite like a catastrophe to bring people together.  skin color fades and no one questions which church, synagogue or mosque you attend.  there is a staggering amount of tornadoes, drought, famines, floods, volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis happening.  it would be easier to accept this if these were isolated events but it appears that natural disasters are heating up all over the globe.  then add to that the human equation which appears to be making matters much worse.  if i didn't know any better, it would seem that this ole earth is being turned on her head.  are some of us still viewing these global events, both economic and otherwise, as separate and distinct occurences or are we beginning to get the feeling that the individual threads that make up our fabric are actually weaving themselves into one giant global tapestry?  that we are slowly losing our own personal identities as countries and as individuals and quite possibly in the first stages of being able to perceive ourselves as one whole unit instead of segmented parts?  that when you hurt, i hurt.  that we, as human beings, have a spiritual and moral obligation to help one another because it is the right thing to do.  that we all, being of different colors and beliefs, when it comes right down to it, are being forced and pushed to re-examine our roles as earthly co-inhabitants?  do you believe that a process is underway with the end result that we will finally acknowledge that which unites us rather than what divides us?  what we are witnessing is the continuation of humanity's planetary evolution.  this process appears to be accelerating; and that these natural disasters are actually part of the process by which we will all learn to come together.  we will be shown a new dimension; one in which we will happily shed our differences and love one another.  we will finally learn to live together peacefully.  we will connect with others in the universe who will embrace us and continue to help us evolve and lead us forward on our evolutionary journey as universe citizens.  toward a whole new awareness of just who we are and why we are here, on this beautiful planet that was hand-picked just for us and where we fit in the Creator's universal Grand Design.

it's one thing to exclaim, "wow, that's really awful" when you read about a disaster or riots, uprisings and marches, violence and mayhem and then dismiss them as you go blissfully on your way.  but i believe there is something else going on here.  these events, whether economic or at the hands of Mother Nature, are now happening in astonishing numbers, with increased frequency and affecting the entire mass of humanity, as a whole.  has someone changed the rules?  were there any rules to begin with?  of course there were and still are.  but it appears that it's a brand new ball game (for us) and the scientists are now going to have to grapple with a mysterious new set of mathematical equations.  it's like the unseen that lies just beyond your psyche, is slowly revealing itself and coming to life as someone has found the key to its awakening.  like that unknown beastie lurking right under the ground you are walking on, patiently waiting for someone to unearth it and set it free.  it watches intently as a group of ignorant, geeky kids, mindlessly ambling down the garden path, not paying any attention to their surroundings, are joking and talking incessantly, wearing backpacks and headsets, cradling their i-phones, only to find out they have unwittingly stumbled into a labrynth of tunnels.  how did this happen?  they see and hear things they've never experienced before and are now confused and fearful.  the harder they try to find their way out, the further in they are pulled.  will they ever make it safely back home?  can you feel it?  there is some phenomena that is slowly coming over us.  it
