Thought Adjuster: “When mortals start to grow in spirit they begin to feel that they are right where they are supposed to be, and they also start to feel more content with their lives. They are learning to align their will with the Will of the Father and they start perceiving that they are here for a reason, whether it is to serve their siblings in some particular way or to learn something – or both. You are learning that the surprises of life – often neither requested nor wanted – are the ones that bring you the greatest rewards, the best lessons, and the most help with your advancement. By nature, human beings don’t enjoy challenges. Only when you begin to learn to trust in the Father, do you start to walk with trust and courage.

“This wonderful equilibrium can be achieved when you align your will with the Will of the Father, which is the equivalent of synchronizing yourself with universal energy. When you do this, you stop swimming against the current, and a sensation of peace and security fills your heart. Unconsciously at first, you sense that you are not alone and that there is a reason for everything. This signals the beginning of human maturity, when the soul takes a step forward on its path to enlightenment. From this moment forward, the personality becomes more integrated, the moral values prevail with increased intensity and the mortal becomes more trustworthy in the eyes of others.

“At this moment, the fear of punishment is replaced by the love for the Father. Now the mortal will not do the right thing out of fear from the wrath of a false God full of vengeance. These young souls start to discover their Father, a loving God who wishes only the best for them, and they start to feel the intense desire of becoming more like Him. This transformative desire inspires intelligent worship and promotes the actualization of the human potentials. The human being becomes increasingly more real, more awake and more spiritually perceptive.

“Once this awakening has taken place, the time when the Thought Adjuster exerts more influence over the personality will begin. The person has made the decision of letting himself or herself be guided by listening. Now the Thought Adjuster has an increased power to guide their efforts towards the eventual fusion and the goals of eternity. This transformation from fearful and confused children who start to discover their destiny may take a short or a long time. Time is not important in eternity. Only your daily decisions, here and now, will determine if you remain in darkness or advance, slowly but certainly, toward the light of your true being.”

Prolotheos: “The presence of evil in God’s creation can be disturbing to the human mind, unable to fully comprehend the overall plan of the Gods. Evil is a by-product of free will granted to finite creatures in the evolutionary realms. Evil, as opposed to the values of Truth, Goodness and Beauty, entails the notion of a non-value phenomenon and, as such, is condemned to fade away as the universes of time and space progress to their eternal and glorious destinies according to the will of God. Due to the harm, delays and handicaps that evil causes to spiritual progress, human beings ought to know its nature, its means and consequences in order to avoid its occurrence in your lives.

“The existence of evil should not be blamed on the Gods. When Personality was given to beings that were created in the perfect and eternal realms of Paradise and Havona, their existence was likewise perfect. However, when the creatures that emerged from the evolutionary process were awarded the same gift of Personality, their existence was comparatively imperfect, and subject to time-space processes in reaching a perfected state. This temporal imperfection brings along the possibility of evil. The Gods could not create real personal beings without giving them authentic free will, even if this meant to allow for the possibility of evil within a limited scope. Proof that evil is in fact a possibility, not an innate condition, is found on Urantia in the perfect and evil-free life exhibited by Jesus of Nazareth as the incarnation of our sovereign Creator Son, Michael of Nebadon.

“Evil cannot manifest apart from evil intent; therefore, only will-endowed creatures, like human beings, can practice genuine evil. Evil intent is a misguided decision of authentic free will under imperfect conditions. Choosing to not be part of the eternal God’s plan is not evil in itself, but the prerogative of creatures with free will. To rebel against God’s will, however, is evil in intent. Your Creator Son said, when on Urantia, ‘Who is not with me, is against me’. Evil is not only doing what is bad and harmful, but it is also a refusal to do what is good and beneficial.

“The results of evil are destruction, disruption, wars, and many other consequences of doing such intentional harm to God’s creation and creatures. Evil, if left to itself, will destroy even the evildoer; because evil is destructive by nature, it cannot help but promote complete destruction. Since evil is the result of misguided free-will, its containment and restraint comes through the unstoppable advance of the plans of God through His decrees and by the exercise of His will by his Associate Deities, His Sons and Daughters, the creatures of the Master Universe. Evil, therefore, is real, active and powerful. Fortunately, it is not eternal as are Truth, Goodness and Beauty. There will come a time when evil will cease to exist. Growing the "Self"

Teacher Ophelius: “The message for today is about investment and recognizing the greatest value there is – the time-value investment in the growth of the self. There are many experts on your world who know nearly everything there is about making money – how and when to buy stocks and securities, when to sell, ‘when to hold them and when to fold them.’ It has become a well known science that is studied much and a great deal of resources are allocated to knowing how to generate wealth, yet so few of these financial experts, and amateurs alike, spend any time on personal growth – knowing the self, growing the soul, or investing in things of eternal value that accrues and grows exponentially here and hereafter.

“‘What profits a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul.’ This statement by the Master over 2,000 years ago says much about the state of humanity in the world today, and much of the trouble on your world comes about by the lack of strategic planning for the future estate of the soul.

“How many actual minutes in your busy day do you spend working on self improvement (self-mastery), communicating with spirit, praying, healing, or uplifting your fellows? For the average person on Urantia, it amounts to as much as the interest on a savings account – very little! For you students on the path who are learning to ‘save your treasures in heaven,’ you are adding to your wealth by investing more time in the growth of the soul, and this my friends, is the highest earning interest there is.

“Spirit finance is quite different from monetary finance – one is eternal, one is finite and short lived. If I were to show you a presentation on the ascension path of two souls – one who spent most of his terrestrial life immersed in the illusion of accumulating material wealth, and one dedicated to the growth of the soul, both would easily recognize the value in the investment of the soul as the greater value.

“Both would see, given the opportunity to see into the future, the difficulty in the afterlife of how investing poorly in eternal values can produce a weak soul that may not understand the importance, the meanings and values of continuing the ascension and achieving the greatest prize there is – eternal life as co-creators of the universes.

“What is the difference between these two souls? Faith – the hope in things unseen. For one demands proof and is unwilling to explore the larger half of his true nature – the soul, and the other accepts by faith the temporary estate of the material world and the eternal estate through the increasing awareness of the growing soul. How do you increase the awareness of your souls? By feeding them with love, mercy, compassion, understanding, kindness, trustworthiness, loyalty, self-forgetfulness, and all virtues that lead to growth and progression.

“Spend more time investing in the self today, my friends, and you will enjoy blissful tomorrows here and hereafter.

A Superlative Definition of "Wisdom"

Teacher: “Any study about wisdom will be incomplete if the presence of God within human beings is not considered. Since the very beginning, both religion and society have valued wisdom and extolled its attributes and benefits to the group. Throughout history human beings have always searched for a ‘recipe’ to achieve wisdom, and to basically learn to think in a more productive way that would bring personal and collective improvement.

“The attributes of wisdom have much been defined and re-defined, many times being corrupted depending on the intellectual and spiritual level of a particular period in history. Some features, which at a particular time are considered appropriate for wisdom and intelligence, are at other times severely criticized or completely ignored.

“In a few words, wisdom is the ability of men and women to use their resources -- physical, intellectual, and spiritual -- to live in this world while preparing for life in the next. The results of a life lived in this fashion are evident in those who live such lives. In this definition of wisdom there is no mention of intelligence (IQ), or the social or financial status of the individual. Often people thought to be ‘important’ due to their careers or influence, are thought to be wise. When judging the value assigned by society to these individuals you should always ask, ‘How have they prepared for their lives in the next world? What have been their contributions to eternity?’

“This simple definition of wisdom clearly illustrates where effort should be invested during a human life. Wisdom helps us to live in this world. Human beings should learn how to adapt to their environment and live in a way that preserves their physical existence and emotional balance. A life limited to survival is not a life of wisdom. The time dedicated to work, and contribution to society, must be balanced with time for enjoyment, to stop for a while and contemplate the road traveled and make decisions about the future. The efforts for survival should be mitigated by the contemplation of existence, knowing that there is a reason for the sacrifices and there is a purpose for what we do.

“It is during these times of contemplation that the second aspect of wisdom can begin to be explored: to prepare for life in the next worlds. Human beings enjoy the presence of God within their being. Life on this world is only a step on the long path to eternity. However, it is an important step that will be the empirical foundation for the activities of the future. If humans shortsightedly choose to dedicate their lives to the physical, a great opportunity that will not be repeated, is wasted. A life lived this way would be like a dream that is forgotten upon awakening -- just wasted time. Living with wisdom is taking advantage of the experiences life daily offers to build a new, higher, brilliant and truer being from the present human embryo.

“Living with wisdom is living with one’s feet firmly on the ground and one’s sights steadily on celestial realities. Like Michael said, ‘It is living in this world without being of this world.’ A life of wisdom is a life that is really enjoyed, because the things that to some are troubles or obstacles upon the road, are opportunities sent from heaven to the wise. Wisdom in the end is a refreshing, original and courageous way to see life, which is stimulating and attractive to those who have the chance to witness a life wisely lived.”

MOVIE SYNOPSIS

Three and a half days before the most mysterious day of the past one hundred years, a man convinces his family to travel deep into the eerie Louisiana swamps to finally solve the mystery of a unique series of numbers.
