Gandhi, "You Must Be the Change You Want to See in the World"

Keep Up the Good Fight

Please read Michael's story.

Premier of Documentary on Michael and His Platoon on June 11th!

To the thousands of Michael Behenna supporters,

For the last two years many people have worked tirelessly to obtain a new trial for our son 1LT Michael Behenna. Even though the numerous judicial and prosecutorial errors committed in his first trial have been on appeal since December 2009, the case remains mired in the military appellate system with no decision. As author John Grisham said in a speech he recently gave ‘It is easy to convict an innocent man; but it is almost impossible to get him out once he has been.’ That has certainly been our experience in dealing with the US Army as it relates to Michael’s case.

But no doubt to the dismay of the Army, support for Michael has grown exponentially since the fateful day in March 2009 when his freedom was taken away and he was sent to Ft. Leavenworth for 25 years. So many of you have contacted our political and military leaders demanding justice for a young man who has been so wrongfully treated by those who should have had his back. The fight for justice continues and the chorus demanding Michael’s freedom is getting louder with each passing day.

That chorus is about to get louder still. I’m pleased to announce that Michael Wilkerson has created a powerful hour-long documentary about our son Michael and his platoon entitled PURPLE HEARTS - A REQUIEM FOR MAD DOG 5. The story is narrated by academy award winner JEREMY IRONS and told through the eyes of the soldiers of 5th platoon, our family, and the experts who analyzed the forensic evidence. The documentary is an emotionally compelling story detailing the journey of 5th platoon beginning at its inception, the IED attack that killed two of Michael's soldiers, the capture and detention of Ali Mansur, his release and Michael's decision to interrogate Mansur, the shooting, and ultimately the trial. PURPLE HEARTS tells the WHOLE STORY and exposes the truth about what really happened. It will bring you to tears as well as rage by the time the film ends and the lights come on.

PURPLE HEARTS will debut at the deadCENTER film Festival on Saturday, June 11 at 1PM in the Kerr Auditorium located in the Sandridge Energy Building at 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Please get there early as the Kerr Auditorium only holds approximately 400 people. Tickets are $10 at the door. We hope a full house and positive comments will result in additional viewings and possibly entice a network or cable channel to pick up the documentary so that the entire country is made aware of this travesty of justice. PLEASE forward this message to your friends and family. Also, please consider posting a comment about the documentary and Michael’s story on deadCenter’s website at this link: http://deadcenter.slated.com/2011/films/purpleheartsrequiemformaddog5_michaelwilkerson_deadcenter2011.

I’m also including a map to get to the Kerr Auditorium in downtown Oklahoma City: http://deadcenter.slated.com/2011/venues/screening/2553101148/print)

We look forward to seeing you at the premier showing of PURPLE HEARTS – A REQUIEM FOR MAD DOG.

Oath Keepers Warn Americans to Prepare for Economic Collapse

At The Twilight's Last Gleaming

he slowly strolled through the crowd.  all around him were joyous shouts of laughter and fun.  Happy shrieks from children being hoisted up onto Dad's broad shoulders; little girls in colorful cotton dresses with bright big bows in their hair; little boys with plaid shirts and dark trousers; smiles; cotton candy; tea and soda; beer for the big guys; popsicles and popcorn; a ferris wheel; the fun house, carnival rides and booths, fancy chickens in cages and cows mooing from the livestock barn.  The day was warm and beautiful.  Not a cloud in the sky.  The sun's brightness sparkled and dazzled as it lavished its warmth on everyone.  Old Glory was hanging from every possible place.  dark blue stripes, crisp white and deep red.  you could hear the muffled sound of cloth as the soft summer breeze gently caressed her.  several men were leaning up against a building having a smoke; young couples were seen, walking hand in hand.  he was really enjoying himself, and happy to be back here, again.  he curiously scrutinized the heavy cables laying on the ground.   there was really no reason to be alarmed in any way as he could move around, over, and above them, with ease.  but they had always amused him as to what their real purpose was.  "well, i could always ask", he smiled.  he stopped by a small booth with two little boys trying very hard to knock down a row of ducks and leaned against it, watching in amusement.  He removed  his tri-cornered hat and knowingly held it in his hands, all the while studying it.  it was such a part of him.  badly stained and spotted with remnants of clotted dirt and sweat, here and there, deep, dark stains from a long ago event he continued to anguish
over and knew all too well.  slowly he moved his fingers over it, remembering a time, very long  ago.  long fingers ran through sandy brown hair that was pulled back and tied with a piece of blue yarn.  his eyes were the color of the atlantic ocean on a cloudy day.  he wore a long dark jacket and light grey breeches. black buckled shoes and a white shirt with frills at the throat.  around his waist a worn leather belt and his ever faithful knife, securely tucked away.  even though he could not feel the sun nor the breeze, he was happy just to observe all that surrounded him with much contentment.  He was an unseen spectator.  He was back where he had grown up.  he had found that over the years, he was destined never to leave this place.  he would always be coming back, time after time.  how many years had it been?  he had lost count.  suffice it to say it was at least over two-hundred.  he never really knew exactly why and just what it was that kept  drawing him back.  how things had changed.  the place where his home had been was long gone.  the forest where he used to play was now a large subdivision.  neat houses and manicured lawns; mailboxes and backyard barbecues, SUVs and Little League.  little did it matter to these people that the ground they were standing on, surrounding their homes, had been a battlefield; oh, there was an historic sign that marked the site but few bothered to read it anymore.  and it had been a fight to the finish.  it was them or us.  we either won this war or there would be no United States of America, no liberty, no justice, just a loathsome continuation of tyranny.  there had been a terrible slaughter with many killed, on both sides.  British and American bodies littered the field from one end to the other.  he remembered all too well and was never able to rid his mind of the gruesome scenes he witnessed nor the wretched sounds he had heard.  dense and acrid smoke filling the air, the sounds of muskets and bayonets ripping flesh.  shouts of anguish and the death cries of men in mortal pain.  after the battle he had sought out the company of a local girl but she had sickened from disease and died shortly thereafter.  he could find no other.  if only his circumstances had been different he would have had a family, someone to carry on his name, but, as it turned out, this was not to be.  he put his hat back on and continued surveying the crowd, soaking in everything.  the rattling of the pins turned his head as he watched the two young boys score a hit and eagerly retrieve their prize.  they ran off, yelling happily, through the crowd, as he lost sight of them.  slowly turning back to his post he saw something that caught him  completely by surprise...a lovely young woman with her back to him, standing in line waiting for something to eat.  she had long brown hair that fell to her waist and it flowed like the waves on an ocean.  the sun was hitting her strands just right and they radiated a brilliance he had never seen.  he stood transfixed and was keenly aware that he was beginning to be caught up in something that he couldn't quite put his finger on.  he was feeling emotions that had long been stowed away.  he could have walked over to her but decided to wait.  what good would it have done, anyway?... she couldn't see him.  yet the suspense was welling up.  did he know her?  what was this feeling he was experiencing?  it seemed like an eternity but finally she made it to the window and turned around with a hot dog and glass of lemonade.  he already knew, he had already suspected, just how he would feel when he was able to see her face.    he couldn't move as he studied her features.  she appeared to be by herself  and moved with such grace it took his breath away.  he hurriedly looked through the crowd for any one approaching her but he could see no one.  he couldn't take his eyes off her.  she reminded him of some one so very long ago.  for him there was no reality like time but this moment was very, very different.  Dirk Glenning had long ago adjusted to what he was; this new essence that was his being; years ago the physical body had died and left in the ground to decay, but not the memories.  they were always with you.  the memories of what you did right, what you did wrong, leaps of faith; courage; trepidation; fear; frustration; remorse, pain; happiness; sorrow.  he had resolved, personally, within himself, that if ever he was allowed the chance to come back, that he would become a steadfast Watcher and Instructor of Men, even though he was a long-ago, lost to the ages, American;   someone who had personally witnessed and endured the suffering and pain forcefully meted out by a tyrannical English King.  he was therefore forced to make a choice...either live under authoritarian British rule and face a bleak and dismal future, eventual enslavement and death, or take a stand against it, even if it cost one his life. "My Friends, I beg you to look up the word Liberty"  "Then, please inquire as to the meaning of the word Freedom."  These are not just words but have breadth and substance to them.  However I fear that to many Americans, these days, those two words have lost their meaning.  but to those people from all over the world who have been forced to flee their countries, their homes, because of grave injustices, those two words are  deep and abiding.  they know all too well that Liberty and Freedom are non-existent in the lands from which they come.   and that they are seeking these two opportunities in another land...America.  They also know that these two come with a price tag.  "So, what happened here, he wondered?"  He thought, many of my fellow Americans do not recognize this fact nor do they even care anymore.  Maybe, in some way, my being here, in their midst, will be able to set them straight.  His face darkened as a look of sadness came over it.  He pursed his lips..."I must firmly ensure the sanctity of this hallowed ground, and somehow gain the trust of the people that are now firmly ensconced on it."  one thing you realized, being a Ghost, was that any longing, any deep feelings could still be resurrected.  they were always with you as they were a permanent part of you.  These memories made up who you were and still were.  he made his way through the crowd so he could keep his eyes on the young woman.  she was definitely on a mission of some sort but what that mission was, he could not discern.    reaching up he slowly smoothed the ruffles on his shirt and squared his hat.  keeping sight of her was not difficult as the radiant strands of her hair sparkled and moved effortlessly as she made her way through the throng.  she headed toward some wooden tables and benches, dipping her head to avoid a striped umbrella.  sitting down, she unfolded some napkins and started to eat.  the glass of lemonade was weeping and leaving rings on the table.  she ignored them as she was definitely intent on savoring her lunch.  dark eyes darted about as if she were looking for someone.  He hoped not.  no one came toward her.   the local high school band was playing and he listened as the choo-choo of the kids locomotive as it made its clackety way down the clackety tracks.   the afternoon was wearing on and the sun was getting more intense.   people were removing their sunglasses and wiping their foreheads with anything they could find...their sleeves, a napkin, etc.  funny, though, she was neither wearing sunglasses, nor a hat and did not appear to be troubled by the heat.  as he moved closer, he came to a halt by a tall and wispy willow.  he started...he now knew where he had seen her before.   but this couldn't be... this had to be some sort of dream.  he stared in disbelief.  Alphia..... this has to be some kind of mirage, some kind of mistake.  maybe my mind has been addled by some unknown malady, he thought.  but the closer he got to her, the more he was sure of who she was.  Alphia Browne had died many, many years ago.  Alphia, the girl he had courted for a very short time.  all of a sudden, memories, feelings came flooding back.  and suddenly, she became aware of something, of someone, close by.  she stopped in midair, holding her glass of lemonade in one hand and her hotdog in the other, brown eyes looking this way and that.  then she turned her head in his direction and it appeared that she was looking straight at him.  it took her a moment before she could make out his figure.  at this point, they were both frozen in time.  he stared at her as she was staring back.  she put down her food and shaded her eyes with her hands.  then she stood up, moving slowly around the picnic table and out into the open.  a half-eaten hot dog and a glass of lemonade were left on the table as her mouth was open in disbelief.  she walked trance like, toward him.   she moved with ease through the crowd.   it was truly remarkable.  he stood, transfixed.  her beauty was unimaginable.  there was a soft sheen to her entire being.  "how is it that she can apparently see me?"  while just a foot away from him, she stopped.  never before had anyone looked at him like this.  she was staring right into his eyes and he was staring back.  she then studied his face with intense interest.  he could not believe what was happening to him.  it appeared she was perceiving him.  she glanced around, wondering if anyone would see her and puzzle as to what she was doing.  She obviously didn't care as she extended her arm out in front of her, just inches away from his face, feeling the air this way and that.  a look of futility and pain suddenly came over her face.  she quickly withdrew her arm and  for several seconds the two just stood quietly, facing each other.  she slowly inched closer.  he caught a whiff of an unforgettable and lovely  scent of roses.  she was now so close to him that she was actually invading his "space."   a tingling sensation overcame him as the two bodies...one physical the other transparent, slowly grew together.  she could feel his coldness as it surrounded her and permeated her.  Yet, she did not turn way.  suddenly, as quickly as she had moved forward toward him, he felt an enormous pressure.  she must have felt it also as she quickly closed her eyes and started to swoon.  the sky had darkened, the earth was melting away, her head was spinning and she could feel herself starting to lose consciousness.  multiple vortices were whirling overhead...soft murmers of some distant past.  she felt that her time on this earth was ebbing.  as quickly as the sensation overcame her, it passed.  she raised a trembling hand to her forehead.  small beads of perspiration had formed.  there was a thin wood post she hadn't noticed before and she quickly reached for it to steady herself.  her eyes were starting to re-focus but   everything was still a blur.  "what had just happened"? "did i imagine this"?  "i'm certain i saw someone standing right here."  still unable to move, her eyes darted  left, then right.  she was clinging tenaciously to the post, not wanting to let go and now aware of people, milling around her.  "what was this thing she had just experienced"?  this person, this man, this something was no where to be seen.  suddenly she felt hands  reaching out to her, consoling words, "are you alright?"  a faint siren could be heard in the distance.  there was soft scuffling and shuffling as she felt her body grow limp.  she closed her eyes.  the hospital room was serene and quiet.  the blinds were half drawn and it was late afternoon.  small playful, darting  figures of spindley tree branches kept popping up and down on the soft green wall.  the door to the bathroom was half open.  a lovely landscape was hanging on the wall.  she tried in vain to grasp her situation as she couldn't remember anything.  her head hurt.  she tried to giver herself several moments.  she was hooked up to some type of plastic bag and her eyes followed the long tube as it dripped, dripped, dripped.  she was too fatigued to move and had to be content with just surveying her surroundings.   the quietness was very comforting.

Stoking the Flames....

how is it that we continue to hurt people?  time after time we witness our fellows reeking harm and doing heinous things to their neighbor.  Do we do these things deliberately, unknowingly, or a little of both?  Question:  Who do we share our lives with?  ...other human beings.  we at first connect, intellectually, physically, emotionally.  A much deeper level follows, but not always.  Somewhere, over time, the enigmatic connection that bonds us together, has been lost.  In other words it short ciruited, either through our indifference, neglect, anger, resentment, frustation, greed, ambition, money or other issues.  What's the point of making the effort to pursue relationships and assume relationships?  There are all kinds of abuse in this world we inhabit--physical, verbal, mental.  So much anguish and hardship we endure or bring upon ourselves.  Is it quite possible that two people were "destined" to be together?

Who Is Fooling Whom?

plain and simple, the recent decision by the Obama administration to force Israel to give back all the land it won after it was attacked in 1967 is a very dangerous one and is setting a very dangerous precedent.

Obama can't even secure our own borders let alone borders halfway across the world.

Apparently he believes that by demanding Israel give back land to the Palestinians that the Arabs lost, fair and square, in 1967, that this is somehow going to enable peace between the two,  that this is fair.

I completely disagree.  And further....this is the mindset of a mental midget.

It ain't gonna work.  All this will do is embolden the terrorists even more.

Well, at least we can agree on one thing...Obama's true feelings regarding Israel's survival and his deep regard for the Palestinians.

For the most part, I believe that the majority of Palestinians are peace-loving.  And I do see the need for some type of solution to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.  Unfortunately, those who represent the Palestinians,  Hamas, Fatah, are not (peace-loving).

Hamas and Fatah just brokered a partnership in which they talk unity.

United for what purpose?

They've openly boasted about wiping Israel off the face of the map.  And that "Israel doesn't have a right to exist."

Think about the state you live in, here in the U.S.   it's very survival is at stake.  it is surrounded by and has been infiltrated by terrorist groups who are willing to do everything and anything to see that it is completely destroyed.  You live there.  You work there.  You have a family.  And you can't count on when the next rocket attack or suicide bomber is going to blow himself up in the middle of an elementary school, a supermarket or a restaurant.  Your state did not provoke this attack.  Yet you are having to fire back, pick up broken limbs, bury infants and weep as your mother, father, daughter, son, grandmother, grandfather are laid in the ground.  You did not provoke this attack.  Yet you are constantly being attacked.  You ask for help from the surrounding states, but they turn their backs.  You plea for help from the leader of your country but all you hear are hollow words.  Instead of sending in the troops he does everything in his power to place obstacles in your path to your right to defend yourself.

Can anyone spell A-R-I-Z-O-N-A?

This is the situation we have with Israel.

Mr. Obama is actually enabling those who want to see Israel completely destroyed.

And yet, I believe that if you asked Obama directly, "do you want to see Israel destroyed? that he would answer no.  But with his mindset and background his actions speak louder than words.

and can someone please answer this question?  How in the hell can you even have a peace process when one side only wants the complete destruction of the other?

who is fooling whom, here?

In his own way, Mr. Obama believes that he is doing what's best for both sides.

But I believe that Mr. Obama is negotiating from ignorance which breeds grave missteps and ultimately, leads to weakness.

Weakness that is going to put ALL of us at risk.

And I further argue that until you get rid of those factions who don't play BY ANY RULES EXCEPT THEIR OWN, there will never be any peace process nor any peace in the mideast.

Relationships

I try and squeeze in meditation on a regular basis but with my busy schedule sometimes I miss the mark.    However, every once in a while a thought manages to come through, from my spirit guides.  I usually sleep with a pad of paper and pencil by my bed so I can catch the message(s) while they are still fresh in my mind.  This morning I awoke with a warm and comforting feeling as I was actually able to see (visualize) a lovely intricate pattern that encompassed the entire earth.  Think of something that was crocheted say a doilie or cross-stitching or visualize a spider's lacy cobweb.  Many fragile, delicate little strands of some material woven together to form a whole.  This image I had definitely had to do with relationships because the word "relationships" came through loud and clear.  Do we realize how precious and how very fragile they are?  All too often we treat them poorly, neglecting them and taking them for granted.  Relationships, whether they be with a husband, wife, daughter, son, friend, co-worker, or an in-law are sometimes thrust upon us or we are able to choose them.  There are other relationships...a boss with employees; the CEO of a big corporation and his share-holders; the government and its relationship with the people.

Peace of Mind

Urantia, January 23, 2011.

Mentori Spokesperson.
Subject: “Peace of Mind.”

Mentori Spokesperson: “Since there are so many humans on this planet struggling to gain peace of mind, I desire to talk of this to ‘give them a leg up’ so to speak. It is so very important to attain, and then to sustain, peace of mind, especially in the face of rumors being spread about ‘the coming changes’, which some say are in store for each one of you, even naming the year 2012 as the due date.

“Allow me to assure you in our way. Never mind the forecasts from some who think they know, and send out all sorts of fearful predictions for the purpose of creating fear in the hearts of all mortals, and so take away their free will to think for themselves.

“I would like to paint a different picture but first I desire to tell you, that God rules in the hearts of all humankind, even though this is not apparent to most. Many are those, who are so confused in their hearts and minds that they cannot see the reality as to how this world is supposed to evolve to a higher level. And because they are confused, they impose or try to impose, their will upon a majority of people.

“Even though they inflict this harm upon others, nothing is irreparable, for the simple reason that no one can claim ownership of this precious planet, and when each person’s time comes, they will have to forgive themselves for everything they have perpetrated upon their brothers and sisters, and upon this beautiful globe.

“Each and everyone who has lived on this precious sphere, is living now, and will live in the far-away future, will all be asked the same question: Have you tried sincerely to walk the walk with the most love in it, and in doing so, did you obtain a measure of peace in your hearts, and if so, did your love grow for your fellow human beings.

“Do you realize that you have a Spark from God within you, to help guide you in the right way, which is doing to will of God. It is in taking time to go within and establishing a working relationship with your Pilot Light, to schedule a regular time for your daily appointment to have your private time with this Gift. The resulting peace of mind will over time truly astound you as you are able, with your God Fragment’s help to face anything that comes your way.

“You feed your bodies daily so why not nourish your soul, lest it withers and dies, and your seed-soul has no chance to develop. This seed-soul is given to each one from God, and as soon as you have reached the age of moral discernment and desire to make the right choices, this Gift comes to help your soul develop and grow through the choice and decision process, which is your prerogative. This soul you present to God each day of your life as He observes your progress.

“In taking the time to go into your daily Stillness you enhance your connection to God and the reciprocal love flowing into you, and back to God, becomes such an unbreakable bond that no one can tear it away, never mind what happens to you. The greatest gift of time well spend is with your Spark from God within. You will reap riches which are not from this earth but belong already to you for the next stage of eternal existence. Once spirit is born, it never dies.

“In this manner you enrich yourself, and more will be given to you. For those, who do not grow their inner wealth, even what they have, shall be given away to those who have.”

soule:  Because I have posted so many of these messages from the 11:11 Progress Group, it is because of the importance of the message(s) and the fact that I am also a member of this Group.  I cannot tell you, dear Friends, how important it is that each one of us go about making this planet a more habitable place for all our fellow human beings.  This also includes the other life forms that live side-by-side with us.  This planet Earth is home to ALL of us.  What we do for one we do for all.  We are here not to subjugate, take from one another, but to learn how to receive the Divine Message, that is waiting for each one of us, but  just beyond our reach.  We need to learn Stillness in order to connect.  This Planet is in the process of evolving (vibrating) to a higher consciousness; a higher spiritual level.  And we have spirit guides who are watching over everything and everyone.  At some point all of us  will achieve a higher plane of understanding in which we come to know the Source of Everything.   Just trust.

Look for the Truth in All Things

A place exists
One of incredible beauty
Where the Cherry Blossoms bloom
And majestic mountains
Are shrouded in white mist
Deep green valleys
And winding rivers
Wearing a soft silk blue Kimono
Her lustrous black hair whipping in the frenzied wind
She clutches a chilled body
It’s a gray and cool day
A keen sense of loss permeating the air
The earth is rotating still but here,
Order and harmony are a thing of the past
Gone is the quiet and serenity of just a few days ago
Dotting the hillside, here and there,
Tiny lanterns from nearby huts
Are lit
It’s comforting, somehow
To see their soft glow
She watches for a short time and then
Lowers her eyes
The limp body she was so tenaciously holding
Sinks beneath the water
She looks at her perfect reflection,
Staring back at her
Slowly her finger gently grazes the surface
And a myriad of tiny little ripples appear
Her reflection is distorted now
Just like her once vibrant country
We humans have a hard time
Grasping why tragic things happen
Every once in a while
We are able to discern His Essence
His Presence...
Many times, during periods of deep crisis,
For this is when we choose to come nearer to Him
This is when He hears our cries
Have no fear
For I am near
A tiny song bird is perched nearby
But it can no longer sing
It has lost its song
Its heart is broken
Tears of sorrow and compassion
Well up in her eyes
She can actually sense the little birds
Mood
Its heartbeat and the trepidation it feels
As it tenaciously clings to its brittle branch
The only anchor it has left
She remembers shattered glass
Jagged and broken
Shredded pieces of debris
Loud shouts and cries of fear
Infants, young and old
Flailed about like rag dolls
A monstrous wave drowning out their cries
A ravaged and sullen landscape
Shuddering now,
She cannot move as she is transfixed
Continuing to stare at the ripples
She created in the pool
Slowly, her distorted reflection
Becomes clearer as the ripples fade away
But doubts still remain
She cannot trust the ground on which she stands
Nor the air she breathes
Nor the food she once ate
She lifts up her head and distraught,
Lets the rain fall upon her face
She is so alone
A dull and thick silence has enveloped everything
Around her
Thousands have perished
She lets the tears come but this time
No hand reaches up to dry them
Instead they roll down her face
Like a cascading waterfall
Becoming a torrent
Time has stopped
Her heart cries out
But no one hears
Her people
Have been through a Crucible of Terror
Heat and fire
A Monstrous wave
Ugliness and Chaos
Confusion and
Death
But even after all of this,
They managed to regain
Their strength of Purpose
Their Resolve
Their Steadfastness
Their Togetherness
They put aside their own
Well-being and safety in order to save others
And continue to look for the Truth as to why this all happened
Continuing to gather their strength and courage
They face the daunting task of putting their lives and their country
Back together again
They have overcome disaster before
Together, in pain, they are forged into one body
All along they pray for Guidance
For Understanding
Just like their brethren across the sea,
After September 11th hit
All heroes

Memories....

Mrk skog/Dark forest
i am sitting by myself in the middle of a clearing on an old gray Army blanket.  There's no one else around.    The blanket material is not soft, but coarse.  Surrounding me are very tall straight trees but I cannot tell if they are pines or deciduous.  They are grouped very closely together.  Think of deep black and a deep dark, blackish green.  I'd say the trees are about 50 - 75' away from me.  There is a light shining down over me.    It is not bright but diffused, muted and soft.  Like the color of an old yellow outdoor light bulb that has been hanging on the porch for awhile and is covered with dust.  It is not a beam of light coming down but cone-shaped like a triangle with the pointy part at the top and becoming wider as it comes down.  I think I am sitting cross-legged with my hands folded in my lap.  Almost as if in a Yoga position.  I do not know what I am wearing (again I cannot tell) but it seems I am entranced, catatonic, or mesmerized as I do not remember being able to move.  I believe this event happened during the daytime.  But I can't figure out why everything around me is so dark and right where I am sitting is so light.  There are no sounds of any animals or birds at all.  It is completely quiet.  There obviously has to be a light source of some kind.  And the light is too broad to be the moon and if this happened in the daytime then obviously there wouldn't be a moon.  I can't really remember if I am looking up to see where this light is coming from or not.  Yet I have the feeling that I am, in wonderment.  The thing is I am not the least bit afraid.  It is almost like a message of some kind, coming down.  This has been a recurring picture in my mind, now, for several years.

Another Unprecedented Disaster....Massive Mississippi Flooding

how do you deal with adversity?  how do you cope with watching everything you've worked for, saved for,  washed away?  how do you find the inner strength, resolve and the fortitude to just go forward (on) with your life when you come to the painful realization that you've lost everything?  how do you cope with experiencing something tangible like your house, your car, disappearing as you watch, helplessly?  One moment the house you lived in for years, the pet you loved and cared for, the car you drove back and forth to work is gone.  You may have even lost loved ones, friends.  They are no more.  things you always counted on, but now as you survey the swollen countryside, everything is under water.  how do you cope with the aftermath of emotions that are surely going to come?  these catastrophes are taking us down to our very core.  to who we really are.  it's like stripping the bark off a tree, peeling an onion.  we were so safe and secure or so we thought until Mother Nature deemed otherwise.   are we witnessing an increase in natural disasters or is it because we are all so connected now via the internet, television, cell phone?  coping and coming to grips with disaster boils down  to your individual psychological makeup, life experiences and spiritual beliefs.  it's bad enough to watch everything destroyed if you have nothing to fall back on, to provide you with strength and sustenance.  Good people, churches, and other organizations, neighbors, strangers, compassionate people who willingly offer their money and their assistance...this is what is going to help us make it through.  This is what is going to make the difference.    Neighbor helping neighbor.  Neighbor reaching out to neighbor.  It doesn't matter whether your neighbor is Indian, Black, Asian, Hispanic or White.  When disaster strikes, color becomes muted.  Because everyone is in the same boat.  The real innermost spirit of the human being is called to duty, upward, onward and outward, to help, aid and comfort their fellow human beings.

Are these disasters we are witnessing on purpose?  Or are they just normal earth events that would have occurred anyway?  Are they lessons from an unseen hand that are purposely being sent our way?  They are happening all over the planet.   Is this the only way that man will finally learn to live peacefully together, side-by-side, with his fellow human beings, accepting one another in love and friendship?
something to think about....

I Feel Like I've Been Here Before

The Meaning of "Secularization"

Secularization is the transformation of a society
Society
A society or a human society is ' a group of people related to each other through persistent relations such as social status, roles and social networks. ' A large social grouping that shares the same geographical territory and is subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural...

from close identification with religious values and institutions toward non-religious (or "irreligious") values and secular institutions. Secularization thesis refers to the belief that as societies "progress", particularly through modernization
Modernization
In the social sciences, modernization or modernisation refers to a model of a evolutionary transition from a 'pre-modern' or 'traditional' to a 'modern' society. The teleology of modernization is described in social evolutionism theories, existing as a template that has been generally followed by...

A Waste of Time?

Your physical body is no longer...you've used it up. Your time on this planet is over. What did you accomplish? Anything of worth? Anything of merit or was it just a vacuous, stupid, hollow ride devoid of any meaning? Did you conceive a conscious plan for your short visit here before you descended or was it hit or miss? There is no answer. Earth 101, Lessons Learned - our stepping stone to the next plane. But do all of us make it to this next level? I believe the answer is no. Every one of us are at different stages of spiritual awareness, development and growth. Some are so far down the rungs of the spiritual ladder that one can only hope they awaken from their dark captivity - in which their only aim in life is committing or engaging in deeds of conquest, subjugation and cruelty. Contrary to some ideologies, we don't own one another. We are distinct, separate, unique individuals with special traits and attributes. But how easily we can be hamstrung, manipulated and harvested by the Puppet Masters. And they come in all shapes, colors and sizes. We humans carry with us varying degrees of love and hate, compassion and concern. Again, the question begs to be asked...is this all pre-ordained or do we learn these traits while here? Different peoples, diverse cultures, tightly grouped in different parts of the planet, devoid of outside contact, who live together according to their own codes of survival and ethics. Some have only progressed a little (Africa) while others are soaring ahead (Asia). Some are fed a diet of hostility, mistrust and hate (Hamas, Hizbillah, etc.) while others dine on grubs. Some have no respect nor reverence for the natural world but only wish to devour as much of it as possible. Takers and Givers. How far has Mankind, as a whole, really come? Today we have more weapons and other hideous means to wipe ourselves off the face of the earth 1000 times over. Bioweapons, new and improved state-of-the art hardware, arsenals of nukes. You cannot convince me that nations have put all these under lock and key. Instead of devoting our time to elevating Man's condition, we are more concerned with the latest and greatest weaponry. Where are we headed? It is apparent that we just do not know. Instead, it's business as usual, all over the world, no matter where you live. How are people surviving in other parts of the world? Many, not so well. The picture looks bleak. Famine, wars, biblical floods and drought, wildfires, volcanoes going off, and the 9.0 earthquake and resulting tsunami in March that devastated Japan. Are we looking at some encoded message that we just haven't grown up enough to comprehend yet? Are we even looking? Are we even listening? I'm looking at a picture and it's pretty dismal. It's more I, I, I. We humans have one major flaw and it is this...we just do not know how, nor do we even seem to be the least bit concerned or interested, in accepting and learning how to get along with others who are different than we. We seem incapable of learning or even grasping this concept. It appears we just can't help ourselves to be civil and kind. And the radical elements are not helping but stoking the flames. Voices of reason and moderation are being drowned out. Will Mankind be faced with another 9-11? Instead of one horrific act that left a nation reeling, how about one that encompasses the whole earth, leaving in its path nothing unscathed? I certainly hope this is not what is facing mankind nor where we are headed. I have to say, at this point, I am ready for the Aliens. You know, the ones that arrive in tiny crafts descending from huge mother ships. And they come with a message for Planet Earth...Get Yo Act Together, Or Else. Don't you think it's a good idea we learn how to do this now, while we still have time, before a strange group of beings removes any option we did have and replaces it with a demand? I know, I know, I can hear you now, "I have rights, you can't do this to me." Well maybe you still do but I'm telling you, if'n we all don't make some changes soon, you can kiss any rights you thought you did have, bye bye.

FREEDOM Comes With a Price Tag

Congressional Reform Act of 2011

Congressional Reform Act of 2011

1. Term Limits.
12 years only, one of the possible options below..
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

2. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

soule:   Are you ready for some more?  If you want to git boilin mad at more crapola goin on in this country, just read this one.  You don't have to be a Texan to pick up the phone and voice your opinion.  A big thumbs down.  This is another despicable (I've run out of acronyms) example of just how far down the slippery slope we've come.  We're now selling roadways to the highest bidder without even allowing for any other competition, giving foreign corporations a stake in all the action, and all by using taxpayer money.  Then the "loans" are repaid by re-using taxpayer money in the form of paying tolls at the toll booth.  This bill is also known as the "Trans Texas Corridor TTC-69/I-69" but (shhhh), nobody likes to refer to its real name when talking about this piece of garbage.

And Now, the "Real" War Begins

To all you bloody naysayers, to all you bloody elitists whether you be a politician, a private citizen or the  news media, who know nothing of or about war, because you've never experienced it.  You run from it.  I believe the word for you is coward.  You willingly send someone else's son or daughter off to do the dirty deed, while what you hold dear remains protected and safe, as you hide in the shadows, lounging in your easy chair, enjoying your favorite beverage,  rubbing a hand over each strand of hair, ensuring they're all in place, straightening your silk tie, rehearsing hollow words, while waiting for the press...

To all of you who have the ability, the capacity, in one role or another, of contributing to the final decision of sending young men and women off to war and then, in the dark....sully them, belittle them, and, at every opportunity, stifle their ability to do their job...

To all of you, young and old (you oldsters, esp. who should have learned something of value by now) who have delighted in trashing, protesting and demonstrating against our military because in your warped and infected minds, they are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys...

To that individual who was dealt the card to call our military to battle, and was painfully aware that he held their lives in his very hands and, because of his clarity, his faith, his resolve, his determination, his respect for and love for country and her ideals, and because he knew an act of terrorism and savagery was purposely perpetrated upon this nation by a group of terrorists, he clearly knew what had to be done and he did it.  - Definition of a Leader.

And, our military did not need any prodding from you, President Bush, because they were and are of the same mettle as you.  I may have disagreed with other policies you embraced but in this instance, I salute you, President Bush, for it was your determination and our military's expertise, experience and bravery who won this battle.  Not Obama, and not the ideologues.  The former President and our military were called upon to do a job and they saw it through, to the end.

To the American military and the brave men and women, to our intelligence agencies, to the steadfast resolve they have maintained in seeking out and severing the head of a venomous snake, under what one can only imagine were the most cruel and unusual circumstances, I say to all of you that my Dad, a WWII and Korean War Veteran, who passed away in 2005, and who, like so many others, was called forth to make sacrifices to keep this nation (and many other nations - free) an Elite Band of Brothers, is now sitting next to me as we watch the news unfolding on the telly.  His WWII cap is sitting right next to me.

But now the real war begins as this was only a skirmish.  Make no mistake, this snake's demise has spawned a new resurgence in those who mean to do us harm.

And this is why we need to be more vigilant now, than ever before.

Those in our intelligence agencies, our Justice Department, our military, and those mis-guided and just plain stupid organizations who spout off that they only have our well being in mind when they paint a returning Iraq war vet as the enemy and the murder of innocent Americans along our southern border as "having everything under control" when clearly they do not...be forewarned that a new and more painful reality awaits this nation if our government and others continue to look the other way when it comes to protecting American citizens, smearing good people and wantonly (aka:  willfully, recklessly, deliberately, heedlessly, unjustifiably) refusing to protect and defend THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

American Muslim Organization Applauds US Effort to Bring UBL to Justice

American Muslim organization applauds US effort to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice

May 1, 2011

American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD)

PHOENIX (May 1, 2011) - Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout Muslim and the president and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD) issued the following statement regarding President Obama's announcement that the United States had killed Osama Bin Laden:
------------------------------------
"This evening's announcement by President Obama that the United States had carried out an operation in Abbottabad, Pakistan that resulted in the death of Osama Bin Laden is a victory for the United States of America against the face of Islamist terror and the man who perpetrated war crimes against our nation on September 11, 2001. Most importantly this will allow the American people and especially the 9/11 families to begin to get a degree of closure.

This operation is a testament to the dedication and steadfastness of the United States military, our homeland security, and intelligence community. There is no finer force than the men and women of the United States military who defend and secure our freedom every day.

The death of Osama Bin Laden is significant because it closes a chapter in our war against Islamist extremists. But make no mistake this war is far from over. Bin Laden was but one head on the Hydra that is the Islamist movement. It is our hope that Bin Laden's death will serve as a means to transition this war from a reactionary approach to quell violence to a proactive war of ideas against the ideology that breeds the extremism.

We will not be free of terror until we openly confront the ideology of political Islam which is the underlying fuel for the militant Islamism of groups like Al Qaeda. To deliver true national security we must demonstrate the same dedication and steadfastness in creating a liberty narrative within the Muslim conscience as we did in hunting Bin Laden."
