Say It Isn't So! "Obama Admin Plotting Internet Takeover?"

The Western Center for Journalism,
www.westernjournalism.com
---
soule: what harm is there in the federal government squeezing the last drop of lifeblood out of us? A little more control, what's the problem? The internet is the last bastion of FREEDOM OF SPEECH. The internet is where we turn for news, other than from the state-run media; online shopping, etc. and just plain info. Doesn't it make sense that the government would now focus on taking away this venue of information? It's just another step in the long process of a "whittling away of our Constitutional liberties." I'm sure they're couching this new takeover language in the softest possible terms. Yeah, just like that soft fluffy pillow they put over your face just before they.......
I used to count the three C's that make up the Obama admin but I neglected to add the most important one: (1) Confusion, followed by (2)Chaos which leads to (3)Conflict; and then (4) complete CONTROL.
AMERICA, HAVE WE GOT IT YET?

From the Czech Republic

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."

"The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince."

The American Soldier, Retold by an Old Warrior Who Passed Away in 2005

February 6, 1918 - December 15, 2005
WWII, Korean War, Vietnam Era Veteran
Combat Infantry
Under the Southern Cross:
The Americal Division (America/New Caledonia)
I belong to the sacred, hallowed ground known as the battlefied. Dotting the landscape...blackened, desolate trees, lifeless tortured limbs, drooping, decimated branches, now stand as silent sentinels to the hundreds of thousands of valiant men who soaked the ground with their blood. I long for the battlefield, as morbid as that may sound. What is this...? I am somehow looking down upon my torn body lying on the ground, my helmet is somewhere nearby, having been violently flung off by an enemy battery, or a mortar round. I am bloodied, shaken, shattered and twisted, entangled in confusion as I lay among the wounded and those who have recently fallen and now, slowly turning cold. I cast my eyes toward a body whose own eyes stare vacantly back at me. My fingers, groping along, barely able to move, are now gently, tenderly reaching up toward his face, closing his eyelids. The lump in my throat is growing. The torrent of tears begins and will not stop. There is an emptiness that no word can define, a deepness, a sadness, a loss I feel, as I survey the ragtag bunch of human debris lying all around. I started out the war as a young man full of vitality and vigor. I was in the cavalry. I know, for all you young guys that are doing duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, that's a helluva long time ago. Of Scottish descent, my thick black wavy hair was a standout along with my great sense of humour. We were all "buddies" then, this group of young men. We could be found teasing one another, sitting around campfires, cleaning our weapons, cigarette smoke filling the air, while our horses were tethered nearby. Every so often we would hear them impatiently pawing the ground or a soft whinny. A cavalryman's horse was as important as his rifle. Sometimes we could be found doing the rotten and dirty work of sentry duty in the trenches. We became very close. Yet, somehow now, after my reddened eyes survey this vast expanse of desolation, I feel so very very old, so very very tired. Like the last bit of energy in my body has been spent. I just want this all to end. I have been fighting this war for such a long time. There have been so many battles, and I've endured the horror of watching so many of my buddies being injured or worse. Just yesterday, as we marched through the jungle, ahead of me there was an explosion. Everyone hit the ground. As it turned out, our Platoon Sgt. had just stepped on a land mine. Suddenly, everyone's world was turned upside down. It was like watching a picture in slow motion. I knew what had happened but my mind could not grasp it. Pieces of him were everywhere, even in my hair. Oh, what the hell. Another casualty - another casualty of war. All around me slow-motion running, confusion and screaming. What was real was now unreal. What was unreal was now real. Such is war. I'm wondering, "how many back home know what I'm going through right now?" "How many of them, snug and safe in their beds, know the hell that is war, the mental anguish"? Yet the young, so full of spirit, so full of life, know no bounds. Nothing can stop them. Their vigor, their vitality, their zest for life...an undying determination and love for country, freedom and liberty. Their patriotism, their sacrifices, have kept this country free and enabled her to become the greatest nation on earth. Comaraderie is one of the big things that gets a soldier through a war. And, of course letters from home. But a grateful nation means very much to those who put their lives on the line. How many people today really understand the liberties that were hard won for them and/or really appreciate them? There is a saying, "once something is lost, it is lost forever". A soldier comes up against circumstances that try his very soul, sorely test his personal character, his resolve and mettle. Sometimes, he finds himself wanting but he just keeps going anyway, in order to get the job done. So it was with us and our Revolutionary War soldiers. The inexperienced farmers, shopkeepers, bakers and candlestick makers. And many more who joined them from all walks of life. Make no mistake, The Yoke of Bondage and Tyrants are ever lurking in the shadows. And if a people are not instructed in the ways of liberty and metamorphis into ignorance and carelessness then they will have opened the door and invited Mr. Tyranny into their homes. To All My Fellow Soldiers, I proudly salute you this Memorial Day. You are truly My Brethren. The American soldier, even with his human frailities, but with devout allegiance to something greater than himself, has made this nation the greatest nation on earth. For on the battlefield is the true test of courage, a coming together of the body's two halves...one spiritual, one physical. They both meet on the Field of Honor and dare face the challenge of coming face-to-face with who they really are. To all you politicians who "think" you are running this country, think again. It is not you, the elite, the privileged, the arrogant, the cowards, who despise what sacrifices were and are still being made on your behalf, but it is to those brave men and women who have given their all. God Bless America. May Her Flag Continue to Wave, representing freedom and liberty for all mankind. And May we all remember the real reason why we celebrate this Memorial Day, May 30, 2010.

The "Greatest Generation", Still Fightin...

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even
announced to the world," America is mean-
spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching
that nonsense to 23 generations of our
war dead buried all over the globe who
died for no other reason than to free a
whole lot of strangers from tyranny and
hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes

If Mankind Were a Melody

If mankind were a melody How would we play out? Would we be a symphony or a dark and bloody, tumultous rout? G-d patiently watches and waits and gives us the time to get ourselves straight But once in a while His patience wears thin No more will He listen, It's time "for a trim" Now it's down to business and it ain't gonna be.. a joyride, a hayride, for "brats on a spree" He'll lower the hammer We'll abide by His rule, Now all of mankind will be total home-schooled He loaned us the time to get our act together, but we just continued to stir up more stormy weather He pulled on our heart strings, He tousled our hair, He whispered His message but kept getting nowhere We kept fiddling away We beat the bass drum Rap, Heavy Metal What a Conundrum! With solemn eyes now He surveys His Creation All is Well except for the Human Equation Its harmonica broken a long time ago He's now waiting to see if we'll mend it by sew But cruelty, madness are the rage of the day, they surround us, engulf us, we're caught up in their fray So how long do we continue on this Path of Destruction? Until we do something the Almighty's forbidden? Haven't we already? This Ship of Fools is sinking fast into deep sea, G-d is going to exact a fee Then He steps in and rights the course we have failed to do, All is coming quite unglued Why is it we can't with both eyes see? He made us All, We're One Big Family, But it's plain to see some are just not content with learning G-d's basic rudimentaries

"Wisdom from the Lubavitcher Rebbe", Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of Blessed Memory

"Our generation is the final generation of Galus (End of Exile) and the first generation of the Geulah (Redemption).."The Rebbe has stated that we are in the Age of Redemption and the End of Exile for the Jewish Nation. This is also the age of Moshiach (the Messiah) and that the Jewish People have done the work needed (merited) in order to bring Moshiach down from Heaven to enter their hearts, leading them into that new day in which all nations will live together peacefully. This message is not for Jews only. It is also embraced by others known as "Righteous Gentiles" or "Noahides" who followed the Jewish People out of Egypt after Moshe (Moses), acting on G-d's behalf, brought the seven plagues down upon Egypt in order to show Pharoah (the Anointed One) that G-d and not Pharoah, was in charge. Because Pharoah was hard of heart, (used to having everything he wanted..power, control, etc. and doing things his way) not being acquainted with the Hebrew G-d, it took seven tries to finally convince Pharoah that G-d was the One in control, not him. Then and only then did Pharoah relent. From my perspective, what I am seeing happening here in America, with the financial meltdown, and globally, rogue states (Iran et. al.) aspiring to wipe a tiny nation (Israel) "off the face of the earth," lawlessness, perversion, the unprecedented murdering of the unborn or the babies who are born but then chopped up, dismembered and tossed into a garbage can, the rise of homosexuality, a complete lack of courtesy and respect by our young people, untold groups and organizations determined to flaunt the laws of the land, this race or that race pitting itself against another race, corruption, deception, lying, thievery, debauchery, decadence, the troubling attacks on religious freedom here, it's any wonder we are in the trouble we are. We have lost our way. We have chosen, as a Nation, to turn our backs on a Righteous G-d as other gods have replaced Him. When we have a President and a Congress who lack the mettle, are more into tearing down, dividing, creating confusion and chaos, then calming and uniting, turning their backs on the Law of the Land, it's any wonder the turmoil that is engulfing us. This is not to say that this hasn't been coming on for years because it has. It's just that at this particular time in history, all of this has finally come to a head. What do we do about this? We need to get back to G-d. Get down on our knees and confess our transgressions, not only personally, but as a nation, and ask for forgiveness. We need to pray for our leaders, even those who are grossly misguided, and ask G-d to bless them with courage, wisdom and guidance. I believe that if we do not do these things, then we will continue to spiral out of control.
